I forgot Pienaar was playing. That's probably because he wasn't.

Agree, there's no reason we can't play 2 strikers + Ben Arfa against teams like Wigan at home. Given a free role on the right would allow him to cut in and shoot on his left.

Tbf, I think this whole "trying to hard" was very encouraging. After 12 months out he was never going to immediately fit into the team, especially considering he's never played with some of these players in his life, at least not in a proper match, and also considering he came on as we were franticly chasing the game. He could've easily came back from an injury like that and shied away a little, but he was everywhere; up front, dropping back into midfield, on the wings; and constantly making himself available. Once he gets up to full fitness, gets on the same wavelength and develops an understanding with the rest of the side he'll tear teams apart.

One thing I noticed is every time he got the ball near the box the whole of the Gallowgate end stood up in anticipation. Been a while since we've had a player who get people off their seats like that, was a great feeling. Off topic, but thought the Gallowgate was absolutely brilliant yesterday, especially in the final 20 minutes or so. Really enjoying the positivity around the club at the minute, long may it continue!

Should've kept this until January to bump.

Sticking with my 2-2 prediction. Think I'd like to see Santon in for Raylor and Marveaux in for Obertan which would allow us to have the two wingers switching wings throughout the match meaning Simpson can get extra support from Jonas when needed. Plus I think Marveaux has much more to give us that Obertan. Hatem to come on as a second half impact sub. Can't wait for this like! Fucking horrible international breaks.

You'd probably be best informing your own players not to come out with the "NETD" tag before you write posts like this. http://www.football.co.uk/newcastle_united/magpies_want_to_be_north-east_top_dogs_rss1650870.shtml Best off telling your manager while you're at it. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2011/01/17/magpies-must-be-top-dogs-says-alan-pardew-61634-27998168/ I can also put up similar links from Carver, Taylor, Enrique, Nolan and Barton if you like. Not once in either of those articles is the term 'top dogs' actually used by Lord Shola or Pards, what a fucking doylem Wearyside is.
