I’d still like an option to select a seat if successful… It can’t be that hard surely?
-
Bear in mind there is International membership ??
-
Begin from this season then. If you want to keep it fair ?♂️ And bring the tier in next season.
-
In my theory - I’d prefer it to be based on previous attendance. I was merely suggesting cost for a way of the club to make more money.
-
Liverpool at home in 2019 was it?
-
I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face and said it weeks ago. If you’re having unlimited memberships there has to be a tier element to it. Example: Tier 1 - 10 membership home games and above (higher weighted ballot entry yet can still be unsuccessful on application) Tier 2 - 3 home membership games and above (higher weighted ballot entry, as above). Tier 3 - basic membership. (All can enter ballot and many will still get tickets). Just as away ticket holders are now annoyed with the new away system, there should be something in place for more ‘loyal’ (dare I say it) home fans. Some of have spent well over £1000 in the last 2 seasons on membership and tickets for home games. Yet, someone who fancies buying a membership in March, with a chance to watch Newcastle’s title run in (for example) with no ticketing history and can enter a ballot and has the same % chance to a home ticket as someone who has been to various games over various seasons? That is also not fair. Yet everyone should be in the same boat? It’s a missed trick imo. Indeed if the club wanted to raise more money, I’m sure people would have paid even more money to jump into a different tier. If you have unlimited membership, you have to differentiate within the membership too. I’m not sure how that’s a crazy suggestion.

No, unless they were buying them on the first day of sale. If you want to encourage a broader base of fan, then perhaps letting them pick their own price of seat would be a good start.
-
For one, you’ll see away fans buying memberships for tickets to get into home end. I can guarantee you that. Liverpool or Arsenal being number 1 culprits. If you’re having unlimited memberships there has to be a way to differentiate between a fan as well. You don’t want to stop any fan going, but you also can’t lump every non season ticket holding fan into the same category either. I find it interesting the club capped it last year and not this year btw. Do you think they suddenly had a change of heart or do you think they wanted to capitalise on £££. I know why I think they have done it.
-
I personally think unlimited memberships is a nightmare. But if you’re going to have unlimited memberships then there has to be a benefit to holding one and a benefit to showing loyalty in the past and moving forward too. One option would have been, tiered levels of memberships. This could have been an option a La Spurs. Perhaps the possibility of building up home ‘loyalty’ points for every game attended to go to the next tiered level.

The more I think about this the more angry I get. It goes right back to the announcement of unlimited memberships for me. As soon as that was announced, I knew they were just trying to cash in on a fervent fan base. Have you ever been a member of any club or institution that literally anyone can sign up to at any time? No you haven’t. Members generally get a benefit of some description. Not here they don’t. There’s no benefit to a membership at all. Other than a free for all of tens of thousands of mugs trying to pile in. (That’s before the likes of away fans cotton onto the fact they could get a ticket in tbe home end for a big game). It was also a kick in the dick to the loyal members of the last few seasons who’d already spent hundreds of pounds - the lack of loyalty shown to those fans was the first alarm bell for me. This reeks of Silverstone, and the fact no lame apology or excuse has come out yet, shows you exactly what this was - a cash grab. NUFC, if you’re reading this. Sort this out now.

How much is One Hotspur+? Certainly better than our membership benefits. This is literally the sort of thing the Club should have been pushing… Tiers of membership.
-
Just found this too. A blended average of 3.3% https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/newcastle-united-confirms-202324-season-ticket-information-and-prices/?displayMode=GoogleAmp

£25 and £35 rises to £44 is a lot… 76% and 25% increases. I don’t think ST prices rose that much?
-
It charges the card on successful ballot though doesn’t it?
-
Any lawyers in the house?
-
Maybe not as black and white as that, but you can certainly see the sea change…
-
It won’t happen as I’m sure we’ll be fine under Howe It’s just something to be aware of how the minds of PIF and others work.
-
Don’t shoot the messenger. Only passing on something I was told. I think some people are still slightly naive to what the Club’s overall objectives are moving forward.
-
Big name = £££ and more exposure More memberships = £££ Increase ticket prices = £££
-
There’s plenty of ways to skin a cat to raise money and the Club haven’t done it.
-
Slightly off topic but a generic FYI on this thread. Unfortunately my ITK pal no longer works within the higher echelons of the club. But you can bookmark this quote for future. If we go on a bad run this season, don’t be surprised for Howe to be sacked and Mourinho to come in…
-
Biggest difference with us and Arsenal has to be the socio-economics of the region. Can’t imagine young lads from the poorer parts of town ever getting in now. Or if they did it’s a once in a blue moon treat.
-
I wonder what the reaction would be if ST holders were put into a ballot for their seats and were told you had to pay £2000 for a Platinum Club seat? If 85,000 memberships is true. The club has made around £3m for it. About £2m more than last season. In the terms of FFP it is frankly peanuts…
-
Imagine for a second you want to go on holiday and you wanted to book a flight with British Airways. They then say yep, great, but we’ll put you in a ballot for seats. You want to take your young child with you and you wanted an aisle seat for easy access. You’re successful, you got your ticket. But wait it’s Business Class or First Class. You’d kick off with BA wouldn’t you? Just because it’s your football club doesn’t make it any less deplorable. I might be able to afford it, for now. I couldn’t do that every game. I can guarantee poorer sections of the support are now totally priced out. It’s sickening.

Despite some tongue in cheek remarks the last few days. I’m honestly worried with the total lack of understanding the Club has had towards ticketing this season. It’s clear as day the route they want to go down. When people lapped up a CL ticket package at £165 a head - it should have raised alarm bells. Man Utd fans kicked off massively with that. Because we finished 4th? Crack on! But for how long? If people don’t stand up to this nonsense now, it’ll only get worse and worse and worse. I can’t remember which member on here was moved from the Gallowgate Club - but that too was an alarm bell. The club is bringing in a more corporate structure and is slowly pricing out the average working fan. Just imagine if Wor Flags were to do a German demonstration complaining about the price of tickets? How would that affect ‘the brand’ the club has tried to create.
