  1. So, Martino seems to be one of the frontrunners for the Barça job. What kind of manager is he? Reckon he can make the switch to a big European team? I'm not too sure about getting a SA manager without experience in Europe, like.
  2. Heard anything about AVB being linked? No. Frontrunners are apparently Luís Enrique and Martino. Celta have denied any talks with Barça, though. An unproven (in Europe) Argentinian manager...
  3. Do like me and sign Neymar (just).
  4. It seems like a pretty minor appointment, I wouldn't get too worked up. DoF's aren't supposed to spend their time touring grounds though, they have scouts for that.
  5. Imho Liverpool are doing the right thing in moving him on and getting a promising younger keeper in before his decline becomes too steep.
  6. Catalan TV claiming Luís Enrique is the chosen manager. It'd be the more sensical appointment. Knows the place, has worked already with the youngsters and even played with some of the heavyweights (Xavi, Puyol) when they were just breaking through. He has enough personality to walk into a star-studded dressing room. I think he did well enough at Roma, given the circumstances.
  7. News: joeyt loves willy Sometimes I just can't keep up with this place.
  8. Tata Martino added to the rumours list, although I suspect that's only because he's a Newell's legend.
  9. Apparently Luís Enrique has a clause that allows him to be released of his Celta contract if Barça came in for him. Our president has said that we'll appoint a new manager "early next week".
  10. didn't see that one coming Effectively signed a one-year extension which doubles his pay to 40kpw. Villa had all the cards with Benteke on a long-term contract and it being a WC year. Benteke was never going to win, at least for now. That's the thing, his agent played it totally wrong. Hence last week us saying "he can leave if someone offers us enough", "enough" being a stupid sum. Well done, Lambert, played a bit of a blinder on this one. Nobody expected us to keep him after a second good season and a decent world cup, anyway. Do you come from the future? If so, who should I bet for in the CL?
  11. Personally I think Tito wasn't up to it either, but he offered continuity with our style of play. To me, he was the example of good assistant, average manager. He didn't have the charisma or courage to make big decisions, or to lift the players like Guardiola did. Still remember, in the Munich game, him standing there like a deer caught in the headlights while Bayern was tearing us a new one. Heck, even Luís Enrique found a club already
  12. They have just made quite a few signings already, I just can't see Klopp jumping ship right now.
  13. Personally I think it will affect us a great deal. All gettable good managers have already found clubs, only Heynckes remains available. Now, I'd if Klopp came, but that's not going to happen. Still, genuinely worried for Tito. That's too many relapses for a cancer
  14. Wouldn't surprise me that new deal now has a release fee or an escape clause of some kind.
  15. It's everywhere now, so I guess it's true. Fuck it. Not even having just signed Neymar can make up for this now.
  16. Sport are usually full of BS, but this is a bold claim. He just gave a presser this Monday, things can't change so much in so little.
  17. Personally wouldn't mind if the FA had the same approach last season. Life sentence for Pards.
  18. 13 months for pushing a linesman FFS, do they hang you if you stamp on a ref in France?
  19. We'll get Agger, mark my words.
  20. €35m? We'd never be able to compete with that. Pity, since it was my favorite CB target due to age and potential.
  21. Except Messi, he's welcome to pay anybody else's clause, they are all ridiculous (€100m+) and we could buy anybody with that money to replace them. I had no idea Thiago Silva has a buyout clause, wonder how much it is; but surely it's ridiculous given the amount of money they paid for him.
  22. They are already mistreating him, typical Germans.
  23. Couldn't tell from that grainy gif tbf. Thought the body language and the dribble were Romárioesque, and he played for some Adidas teams.
  24. That's 4 big ticket strikers at City. Madness. Pellegrini loves his 4-4-2s, so I guess they'll all get time.
