Best Spanish tall striker, until we see what Llorente does at Juve. He's come leaps and bounds this season, too, growing in confidence and carrying Sevilla on his back. I still don't see the point of paying so much for him when you've got Dzeko in your books, but we'll see.

Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition
Village Idiot replied to OzzieMandias's topic in Football
Such massive FIFA has shot his own foot with this; clubs don't actually give a fuck about international tournaments and I can see them showing him the finger. -
SI should release a patch, this save is getting way too unrealistic.
-
They did a deal in 2012, to keep him for 12/13 season and help them get into the Champions League and then they would let him leave. Ridiculous that you have to "make a deal" with your own player after just one year of his contract. Football nowadays

Spanish press is quoting Mou denying all of this and saying that Mata and Luiz are not for sale.
-
Lots of rumors in Spain that Atlético have bid for Cazorla. Immense signing for them if they pulled it off. A creative forward/attacking mid is exactly what they need. I just can't see Arsenal selling though.
-
David Luiz is part of the deal though. Chelsea should add 10m more.
-
His arse, probably.
-
Granada's ST campaign posters: Undecided whether they are awesome, awful or awesomely awful. Definitely love Real Madrid's rendition as an evil whipped cream viking though.
-
:'( Ah well, we have just bought Neymar.

Messi bulked up, lost speed, and became the world's best. Increased core strength and balance helped him immensely. Every player needs something different.
-
Wonder where he could go? We aren't in the market for a striker, Florentino Pérez might be tempted to get another trading card for his galàctico collection though. Any chance of another English team picking him up? Can't see him going to Chelsea or City, Arsenal can't probably afford him.

Our DOF as admitted they had not told Vilanova about Thiago's clause in case he didn't play enough games. Fucking amateurs
-
Vilanova has confirmed other clubs' offers for Cesc but that he has "talked with the player and he told me that his desire is to stay and succeed at Barça".

Albiol to Napoli for €12m, according to the Italian press. Watch Benítez piss away the Cavani money on average footballers
-
Yep, it looks like she'll only be there in a consultant status. Which is fine, most of the time what you need is somebody to review training routines and food habits of players to improve this kind of thing, instead of being in the training pitch every day.

If anything, Guardiola takes no s*** from no one. I'm not sure he has the pliability to navigate FC Hollywood and the poisonous German press successfully. I don't give him more than two seasons. We aren't the most easy club either, but here he was already a club legend and a tremendously popular figure, so backstabbing and political bickering was kept at a minimum until he left.

Sevilla have agreed to sell Negredo to City for €28m, according to Marca. High fee for a player whose role Dzeko could easily fulfill, but well, they're City.
-
You have to inform the club of any bid that you've accepted for the player, and accept a matching bid they might make. It's stupid since you'd most likely do that anyway, and it doesn't force the player in any way. So they have next to zero practical effect. In Spanish basketball a refusal/first option *does* force a player to go to the club that uses it, for example. That leads to the fun situation of clubs paying other clubs so they don't use the option on a player they want to sign.
-
Of course not, that's less that we paid for him. They do have a first refusal, that's been alluded to by all parts. I have heard that sell-on fee claimed by a lot of Arse fans for some reason, though. Even our board can't be that idiotic. Or maybe they can. However the version I've heard needs them to put on a matching bid and Cesc then turn them down in order to be eligible.

We won't sell Fàbregas and Thiago in the same transfer window. Not unless he himself wants to go, which he's always said he doesn't wish to do. Marquinhos' agent confirms we've bid for him.

Adama has been promoted to our B team. Always wanted him to make it as soon as I read his name the youth squads (yeah, he's a black lad with Mali roots, but who cares)
