  1. Now that Torres and Benítez are off all the fucking "Spanish Liverpool" wankage in our press will finally be over. ABOUT TIME.
  2. I remember one of my first months in the USA, watching NBA Bulls-Lakers (Bulls getting fucking hammered) with some locals. Me: *expletives after yet another shit play by the Bulls* Yank: Hey, why are you getting so worked up? Me: Man, when I was a kid Michael Jordan was the fucking king of the world, Bulls are my NBA team and always will be. Yank: Here it doesn't work that way, just support somebody who isn't shit.
  3. 18 points from my only 2 players in FF tonight, I'm satisfied
  4. Still can't decide if I want Arsenal to win or lose. I guess losing pace on the league might deflate them a bit, but I can't really want Manchester United to win the PL.
  5. Boss/Cuntish putdown towards his predecessors in charge today. When asked why the squad looked so tired he answered "Because several players are not used to play midweek games" (in reference to Madrid failing in cups for quite a few years)
  6. I'm from Halmstad accually. They have a new spanish manager for this season who used to work for Espanyol. I'm guessing it's his contacs that has made these transfers possible. Might just go to a couple of games this season just to see these guys... Ooooh, Clotet is their manager? What a strange place the world is. Did a very good job for Espanyol. Yup, Clotet. He bought some other guy that used to play for Espanyol aswell. Ivan Diaz I think his name was. You have any idea who he is? 32 yers old I think. Remember him sitting on the bench of Espanyol in the early 2000s. He went on to have a career in our lower tiers but I can't say much about him I'm afraid.
  7. He was expected to be the hell's bells a couple years ago. Had an ACL, has been average since he came back. In my opinion he'll be completely out of his depth. Should have waited a bit before moving, but I understand it was an offer hard to resist.

  9. Actually after talking to a Real Madrid friend he reckons all 3 of them are pretty average so don't get your hopes up too much. I guess they are being put in the shopping window.
  10. Real Madrid loaned 3 of their youth prospects to Halmstad.
  11. Charlie Adam behaved like an absolute cunt this transfer window. You were nobody 18 months ago, surely you can wait for the summer to get a move and help Blackpool stay up.
  12. Aren't Barca facing a problem with Dani Alves trying to hold the club to ransom Aye, and I back the board on this, as much as I'd HATE losing Dani. But we can't pay a defender €8m per year. What would Piqué or Puyol think?
  13. I'm under no illusions anymore regarding football. Pretty damn sure our local lads would poof off somewhere else if we couldn't pay them €6m a year like we do.
  14. And it's not Carroll alone. Other players might feel they deserve better wages after seeing this happening. Why would Barton agree to lower his salary after performing so well when you're raising Carroll's twice in a season? Or José Enrique will want a raise too when extending his contract.
  15. To be honest that makes them more dangerous in view of Saturday's game. They always raise their standard against us and they're now truly desperate for a win. Cracking game for sure And I'll be out of town because of work
  16. After selling 4 and buying 2 this transfer window, Atlético have 19 players in their senior squad. Smallest in La Liga.
  17. Is it possible to do emergency signings in the UK? In La Liga it's possible to drop from the squad a player who is out for the season and sign somebody to replace him, even if the transfer window is closed. So just go and break Shola's knee (he might even do it himself).
  18. I can understand this viewpoint but when Sunderland sold Bent I can remember saying that a cold hard look at it would suggest that Sunderland had sold him at his optimum value and personally I felt he was on a downward spiral at Sunderland anyway. While Carroll is a different case there was always a part of me that wondered if he didn't continue in this vein next season we would never get this sort of money for him again. Unfortunately to keep players when the big clubs come calling will mean smashing our wage structure which we obviously aren't prepared to do yet. This round of transfer activity is driven by Chelsea's willingness to spend big before the impact of the finical fair play rules. There's no guarantee that once the roundabout stops spinning now, anyone will be driving it with such big investments in the future. are the fair play rules actually coming into effect? and what do they mean? From 2011-2012 season the operating loss made over each three year period will not be able to break a certain level. In the initial period (up to 2015) that will be £38 million, so one contemporary Andy Carroll blows it all. Of course, Liverpool wouldn't be in trouble, because they sold Torres for the money. But Chelsea would not have been able to roll the first stone by magicking up £50 million if the rules were in place now. Once the loss making clubs are no longer in a position to drive the market, there should be some deflation in fees. Until this season Madrid or Barcelona haven't posted an operating loss in years (and our previous board was able to cook accounts to still show a profit this year), yet the debt of both clubs hasn't stopped growing. Both clubs' accounts are legal and audited, so I don't see how this kind of oversight can be implemented.
  19. http://www.sportspromedia.com/notes_and_insights/fifa_could_scrap_licences_in_overhaul_of_agent_regulation/ Not sure what will come out of it though.
  20. Villarreal have confirmed they rejected a €35m bid from Spurs for Giuseppe Rossi. How many strikers did they try to sign yesterday? On a more amusing note, Second division team Girona have signed Messi's cousin Emmanuel Biancucchi.
  21. Was released by Málaga two weeks ago.
  22. International football suits Gio. More relaxed, less tactically strict than club football.
  23. Get Osvaldo from Espanyol so they get relegated next year. Great striker that needs to be taken off their undeserving filthy paws.
  24. Pull some stunt like getting fat Ronaldo from Brazil. Or bid 30m for Bojan and help us get Cesc back.
