We played the Real Madrid supporters club about six months ago. We lost something like 17-1 f***ing hell, was Cronaldo spending his holidays in Korea? Well, multitude of factors. They're pretty close to an actual amateur football club in that they have regular practice sessions etc. We're just a bunch of lads who get together for a kickabout once a month or so. Also they draw from a pool of members that's several times larger than ours. You can imagine how there would be quite a bit more Real Madrid fans than Newcastle fans in this country. What are the biggest foreign clubs in there? The only Korean football fans I met are all Manchester United fans.

From SSN... Chelsea? "Major European club"? He isn't that good, I'd say Everton are his level.

With the Ben Arfa transfer so far you've outspent Real Madrid, Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal. How does it feel?
-
Wheres he play? Remember the name but cant think of his position. Started as a striker, but nowadays he's deployed as attacking midfielder across both sides and in the hole. Have seen him play in the Xavi role in our B team, even, but that's not his best position. He scored against Kazan earlier this season. Messi used to say he was better than him, which is obviously not true but there was a talent in there and hopefully somebody will give him a chance in the top flight.

Víctor Vázquez looks set to leave Barça to try his luck, and apparently is keen on playing abroad and Blackburn have been linked to him. He was in the same team that Messi, Cesc and Piqué, and at the time he was higher rated than them all but a knee injury curtailed his development. He's been healthy for quite some time now, and ends contract at the end of this season.

A motivated Benzema is great. I have seen glimpses of that player with a Real Madrid shirt and I would prefer that doesn't happen too often. The guy needs to be baby-sitted, his mental strength is obviously low.

Made up tabloid filler, Mourinho has complained too much of his striker squad depth to give one away, as underwhelming as he's been so far.

Real Madrid top, hope they put 5 past him too

Here's hoping these others are Manchester City, Chelsea or Real Madrid looking for a teaboy

Not an active player, but former Spanish international and current Madrid DoF Miguel Pardeza is an anthropologist with several published papers. And Thuram always wears smart guy glasses. http://www.actualidadfutbol.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/thuram.jpg

Also, isn't Frank Lampard supposed to be very smart?

The boy is utterly talented, but his attitude on the pitch holds him back imho. Probably needs to go to a team that's not used to fail to spur him out of his complacency.

3-1 Fair result tbf. Chuckle brothers defending by Atlético.

Benzema off for Kaká, wonder if he's going to try him as #9 again.
-
He does. That's why he's always whining politely asking his board that he needs another striker. He once compared playing Benzema as "hunting with a cat".
-
Was just about to join Wigan last season too. Was Atlético's 3rd keeper by then, although already highly rated. Then a freak keeper injury crisis put him on goal and the rest is history.

De Gea is way too good, and he's just 20.

The only thing I know about college soccer football is that the Ivy League teams were awful, awful. But Ivy League is hardly a good benchmark for college sports.

That's nice camaraderie towards the new boy, particularly coming from the captain and two senior players. As Cronky says you shouldn't take this kind of stuff for granted in a dressing room.

Stoke have made a £5.9 offer for Demba Ba. Where do Stoke get their money from? Peter Coates.
