Anyway, you have to understand how this thing is voted. Apart from the 100 or so journalists, every manager and captain of every FIFA federation gets a vote. EVERY one. And that means a lot of nations outside Europe that don't really follow European football will vote on name recognition/World Cup performance alone. Don't think the captain of Grenada/St Kitts will know if Sneijder was key in an European treble winning side.
