  1. IIRC He'll go to two more places.
  2. It was announced down here a few days ago, although where he would go was obviously kept under wraps.
  3. I used to dwell in a Bolton forum and they too complained about Nolan's fitness during his late years there.
  4. I was just reading a preview for the Madrid-Ajax game tonight and it says that Oleguer is the highest-paid Ajax player
  5. I'm pretty sure Spanish is taught in Brazilian schools too. Wouldn't be that surprised if Sandro spoke it. On the other hand I can understand Brazilian/Portuguese people rather easily depending on their accent/speaking speed.
  6. I always rated his workrate, mind, particularly in a team like Mallorca that was a pretty important quality. Plus his pace. But he's never been a player with good delivery. I remember him hitting one of the most hilariously soft penalties I have ever seen at Camp Nou. A penalty he won himself, though. Also to get back to the topic of the thread, I'm pretty damn sure Jonás was played on the centre ocasionally at Mallorca. Can't remember how he performed there, though. But a centremid with pace and good physicality (he was pretty big for a La Liga player) isn't a daft idea if you play counter.
  7. He wasn't a rated player, he was a player that people expected to come good since he had all the same flaws in his game that he exhibits now but was young and new to Europe, but has obviously stagnated. As said, Güiza, Ibagaza and Valero were the top dogs at Mallorca at the time.
  8. Hmmm - despite the fact that he was very highly rated in Spain, you know better? Eh? No. He had the same rep that he has with you lot. Flashy runs with no end product, although due to his age he was regarded as having potential to be good.
  9. It was a delight to watch, but really, most of the time it looked like we were playing against training cones. They gave us all the space in the world. That said, Messi's second
  10. Well, back from the Barça game. Nice therapy for the Hércules debacle although Panathinaikos were really, really terrible.
  11. Which means Blackpool is keeping the only clean sheet of the day
  12. David Silva is a pretty expensive backup player it seems.
  13. No clean sheet points for Chelsea defenders
  14. Mascherano getting his first start for us. And ye, I'm missing the game because of an ill-timed work meeting.
  15. Why didn't Rooney play? Legit injury or the missus doesn't allow him to leave home anymore?
  16. Pure Redknapp that. "I don't want player/job X, but X really is a t'riffic player/job so if the opportunity came around of course I couldn't refuse, but don't start saying that I want player/job X"
  17. Thing is that everybody thought we weren't going anywhere with Aragonés, plus all the racism thing made him a bit uncool to have around so he was hounded out and the FA tried to dress it honorably. Then oh surprise, we go and win the tournament. So you can have a fecked managerial situation and still win stuff.
  18. Aragonés did pretty much the same (IIRC he announced he was quitting one year before the tournament), and we announced Del Bosque as his successor six months before the EC.
  19. Reminds me of Ronaldinho saying that he wanted to be a model pro when he started with us.
  20. Yes, apparently was Brazil's best player today.
  21. Barcelona B lost 0-3 in a friendly against Brazil in Barcelona in a closed doors friendly. Actually a friend tipped me to it but couldn't sneak into the training compound

FC Barcelona's site is utter shite to be honest, I wish they redid it. I too like ManCity's one a lot, although navigation isn't always intuitive (guess you need to get used to the layout), it's very clean on the eyes.
