Scholes' tackling
-
Everton missed a good chance to get themselves in contention for an Europa League spot.

Are you going to kidnap Frank Lampard and dye his hair to pass him off as Kevin Nolan?
-
its at the reebok Well, Coyle's Bolton shouldn't be that hard to beat there, as Allardyce's was.
-
Wonder how a Rooneyless ManU manages, although Bolton at Old Trafford isn't the hardest fixture in the world...

Another thing they could do is what Espanyol did when they were broke and they were still fan-owned (so money couldn't be injected directly). Their sugar daddy bought players on his own accord and he loaned them to Espanyol free of charge. What I mean with all this, is that this rule can probably easily be circumvented if someone really wants to.

I would like Arsenal to win this but I also need them to lose a bit of morale for our CL tie

Does Al-Mansoor really care about the 2m or so they get from Etihad?
-
Ouch for Villa.
-
What would prevent them from paying, say, 100m for a shirt sponsorship and avoid these provisions?

About 20k a game I think, which isn't bad when you ask the question of how many urn out for American sports over here. Average last season was 16k. Although the newer teams like Sounders and Toronto did far more than that.

Roma has been decent this year, had some very lucky results though. Ranieri has really done the works, Juventus really did them self a favor there Think it will end up in a draw though with the possibility of Inter winning the game bigger then Roma. Eto'o and Milito will get one each, De Rossi for Roma. 2-1 Inter FT For all the stick he seems to get everywhere he has been, Ranieri always goes to his business pretty decently I think.

Jesus wept, they want more from the fans! Season tickets, shirts, corproate hospitally, weddings, credit cards etc....now broadband and telephone lines. What next car manufacturing..."hey what do you drive?"..."I drive the New NUFC XR3i Milburn" I still wonder why it hasn't happened yet. Granted clubs in stripes would look awful, but get a red BMW, stick a ManU badge in it. Watch as you sell 100,000 of those in Singapore.

Sadly, I think in the long run they'll address that in the NFL way. A million teams spread around all the possible markets and an unbalanced schedule. Incidentally, is it this season the first time that MLS will run a balanced schedule?

And they are getting rid of the arch above the main stand, which is one of the icons of the city landscape if you ask me, easily seen when you walk following the river. http://ketari.nirudia.com/photos/normal/ketari-20091111133645.jpg

Don't think it will ever happen. There's no tradition of it in yank sports, and owners would run foul because of the financial insecurity. College sports and minor leagues have filled the hole that lower divisions occupy in Europe. Since your hometown is unlikely to have a top team, you follow your uni's team.

Aye, a shame that they are moving instead of renovating it, that place is one of the oldest pitches in Spain. So much history and tradition. It's not called "The Cathedral of Football" for nowt. Not quite in the same league but always reminds me of WHL, double tiered stands right on top of the pitch. What a football ground should be. This is a slightly shabby 3d model of the new place. Sadly it looks like the stands are quite further away from the pitch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMvV1v3aiOw&feature=related

It's a weird move though, since the new stadium is just a few meters away from the old one (like the Giants did here with the new Giants stadium), but it will be much more modern and accessible.

Larsson was so fucking brilliant in that final. Won it for us tbh. http://www.forums.govteen.com/images/smilies/kate/YesYourMajesty.gif

Yeah, he kind of did sod all for us except *that* goal, which is enough! Never understood why we sold Van Bommel, he is a great player. He kind of wanted out though, so I guess it had to be done.

Xavi's passing range and general metronome style of play is so important to the way you play. I actually find it interesting because I was looking at the 06 Champions League final the other day and the midfield was Deco-Edmilson-Van Bommell. I can't even imagine Barcelona without Xavi for some reason,he seems to embody everything about Barca and their style of play. Was he not as much of a key player that season? Or is there another reason why he didn't play? He was injuried. He indeed was key on Rijkaard's team. He was the one that moved Xavi from a deep-lying playmaker position in Guardiola's mould to the more advanced one he plays now, which is where he has flourished.

I love badges on my kits though, give them a je ne sais quoi of coolness. Love the yank flag on the MLS ones.
-
I think we greatly improved in the second half against Osasuna to be honest. But we are very hit and miss indeed. Xavi seems to be progressing nicely and could be back against Mallorca.
-
I have to get myself up to speed with all the USL/NASL shenanigans. There was a big mess and I don't really know what's the second tier in the US anymore.
-
Atlético always bottle it against Real. They haven't won a match against them since 1999. Mallorca's home form is impressive, and our form is shaky. More than shaky it's patchy. We were terrible in the first half against Osasuna yet we were great during the second, going through their defence like butter like the Barça of last year. We'll see what Barça turns up...
