That actually looks quite promising. I was expecting mainly single seats with the odd 2s and 3s. Plus the East Stand is one of the most populated by ST holders.

Called us flag nonces as well as they watched flag displays with envy, only to start to try to copy them and failing miserably Such a weird group of people but in reality we couldn't wish for better neighbours than this lot. Always good for a laugh.
-
Mocked us and then copied us. Genuinely the thickest fanbase on the planet.

It's a totally different era now. There's more fans around and football has never been so popular. Back in 2002 you'd never have dreamt that a club like West Ham would be pulling in 65k every week, but here we are.
-
I can see where you're coming from like. Under the last couple of years of Ashley's time here, of the matchgoing fans I know, more were going for their day out around town on the drink as opposed to the football. A city centre stadium futureproofs the attendances I'd say, in that people will always turn up because of where it is. Move to an out of town arena, and when we're playing badly it's easier to find excuses not to turn up if it's a bit of a hassle.

That's best part of 20 years ago now tbf. We were only getting 40k for some CL games (Feyenoord, Leverkusen, Kiev) and we didnt even sell out Juventus in the CL, or PSV in the UEFA Cup QF. Unimaginable these days. I bet we'd sell 52,000 for a midweek 2nd round League Cup match v Fleetwood if we drew them next season.

Nobody pissing their pants here. Just saying that you have more control over where you sit now than you did last season. That's a fact. The old way, which was the best way in my opinion, was the same whereby you had to make sure you had to be around when the tickets went on sale to be in with a chance of getting them and tbf going back over the years that was always the case. It's known as first come, first served. Bottom line is still the same. The ground simply isn't up to the needs of the football club any more.

And then can make an informed decision on whether you go ahead with your purchase or not based on what seats are available when you go to select your seats.. Last season I was paying for seats in areas I didn't want to be in.
-
You didn't know where you stood really though. For example the Leazes and the Gallowgate are both Cat2 (as are the edges of the Milburn Paddock, plus the section right next to the away fans). I absolutely love the Gallowgate but I dislike the Leazes to the point where I'd sooner watch on TV. Full of moaners and hate being underneath the away fans. Had 2 successful Cat2 applications last season but sadly both were in the Leazes and I didn't enjoy it. Nobody singing, all you could hear was the away fans. It just wasn't for me. At least this way I can see what seats are available if I'm successful in the ballot and then I can make an informed decision if there's any areas of the ground to my liking that I can sit in. Ultimately the old way was still the best way in my opinion, but they'll never go back to that now.

It's a crime ridden shit hole is what it is if we want to be brutally honest here. An absolute waste of land these days. Shame as I used to be quite fond of it as a kid 30 odd years ago. Something needs to be done along the lines of basically a land swap where a new stadium is built where the park is and a new park, hopefully one that is actually maintained by the council and monitored by park wardens to cut down on crime and anti social behaviour, is built in it's place as green areas are important.

Bloody hell so the cheapest tickets for the highest category games will probably start off at around £60 then!
-
That's not their ex player David Rush in the comments is it??
-
Not applying for Southampton as I'm away. Any indication on what the ticket prices are like? Assume Southampton would be in the cheapest category.
-
It has! We've renewed our 2 there. It's still by no means perfect, I'm not sure what is though, but at least getting the opportunity to select our seats, plus the slight chance of getting tickets if we are unsuccessful in the ballot is a big improvement.
-
Here's our new manager. But enough of that........ Now let's talk about Newcastle United football club.
-
In the Ts & Cs of our season tickets at PSV we are required to attend at least 14 of the 17 home games amd if we can't either use resale or pass on to a friend. Failure to do so means we'd lose the right ro renew it for the following season. Actually just received this email this morning; No-show policy & resale The Philips Stadium is sold out almost every game, but because season ticket holders do not always come - a so-called no-show - there are often still empty seats. To limit this, the no-show arrangement will apply from the start of the 24/25 season; As of the new season, season ticket holders are expected to have their seats occupied for at least 14 of the 17 Eredivisie matches or to be offered through resale. Can't you attend a match yourself? Then lend your card to a fellow PSV supporter or offer your card in the resale so that your seat is still occupied. Together we support PSV 100%! Wonder if it's something NUFC will look at doing in the future.
-
I'm going to that one. They've got Percy Main away on Saturday which I would like to have gone to but I'm in Dumfries that day watching Queen of the South v Aberdeen. I can see me watching most of my football at Non League level next year as NUFC persist with this random ballot carry on. Just counting up grounds I visited last season and it was; PSV Eindhoven 9 times Heaton Stan 9 times NUFC 6 times Gateshead 5 times Chelsea 2 times Arsenal once (PSV Champions League) First time since 1984 that NUFC wouldn't have been top by an absolute mile thanks to the ballot. Back onto the topic of Shields and by all accounts the feel good factor is slowly returning. They are engaging with their supporters at last, putting on various social events in their clubhouse and have 2 buses going down to their friendly match at Knaresborough in a couple of weeks.
-
Aye that one always amuses me. We have literally 10s of 1000s of fans locked out of every home game because demand is so high whereas they have a minimum of 10k empty plastic seats at every home game meaning anyone who fancies it can simple rock up on the day and get in. They've never had an era in their whole history where they've had fans locked out of watching their team on a regular basis like we have. It's always been easy to pick amd choose games for them as they've never had the demand.
-
Ticket number 001. Assume that means that you are their 1st season ticket holder of the season! Great value at under £2.50 per game mind. My North Shields supporting mate reckons you are playing them in a friendly tonight at John Spence.
-
He's a rabid scouse mackem I believe, and from what I can gather an absolute prick according to those who've had the 'pleasure' of his company.
-
It's doesn't have to happen. If you check the Ts and Cs you have no right to renew your season ticket. You get it on a yearly basis, unless you're on a long term deal but they'll all be finished by then anyway. I agree the club will accommodate them, like they did when they kicked fans out of the Milburn Stand in the 90s, but they don't have any obligation to. Probably around 4k ST holders in the East stand so there would be enough room to dot them around the other 3 sides of the ground if they wanted.
-
That would be an atmosphere killer if ever there was one!
-
Just had an email about memberships and what my preferences for next season would be, ie go back to the old way, keep it the same or tweak it slightly. Think they may be changing how members apply for tickets next season.
-
They need to get real. Their best player for the first half of last season and the only player they had who didn't look totally out of his depth against us was Pritchard, and they only got 100k for him.

Group C: 1. England, 2. Denmark, 3. Slovenia (Q), 4. Serbia

How can we draw with a Country with a 2m population? This isn't possible according to Greame Souness.
