I used to get the urge to put my foot through the screen whenever Pardew was interviewed, mostly towards the end of his reign here, but with Bruce it's on a different level of hate altogether. I hated him before he even arrived, I was devastated when he was appointed, and I hate him even more now. Just so frustrating that 99% of us knew exactly how it would all pan out yet the idiot who owns the club thought it would be a good idea to pay Sheff Wed £3m to get him here.

I say I don't care any more but the truth is I always will. I don't even watch us on TV and I say that's because I don't care but it's really because I can't bear watching NUFC under Steve Bruce. I could switch it on but I know I'd get myself too worked up so it's easier not to bother and then just catch up with all the anger on social media. What a club eh?

We're on course for a 42 point season if we replicate the 1st half of the season in the 2nd half. However that isn't going to happen. Bruce is done, the players look done with playing for him and I can see us picking up another dozen points at the most, and that's being optimistic. Would put us on 31 and means we'd be relying on the bottom 3 being utterly shit to survive. Frustratingly a change of manager now, not in 5 or 6 games time, and we could banish any relegation fears in an instant. Depends if Ashley has learned anything from 15/16 or not.
-
While I agree with this surely the noises coming out are that we’ll get an answer one way or another this month or next It needs to be soon and decisions need to be made quickly regarding changing the manager whether that's Ashley or if PIF can have an input. Make no mistake we are on a one way track to relegation here and if that scuppered the takeover it would go down as the costliest relegation in the history of football!
-
If we go down there's no way the takeover happens. Aside from the fact they've said they wouldn't buy us as a Championship club, you'd have the small matter of the clubs value being halved on relegation. No way is Ashley parting with his £300m asset for around £150m even if the Saudis did have a change of heart and were still interested. He'd gamble on us coming straight back up and then starting negotiations again.

I bet all those clowns who used to constantly compare Bruce to Rafa, trying to say there was no difference between the two, are feeling rather foolish these days. I would mock them but they all seem to have disappeared.

Sheffield Utd 1-0 Newcastle Utd - 12/01/21 - post match p22

If we had any leaders in that team they should be speaking to the hierarchy about removing the manager because, Darlow apart, every single one of them has regressed since he arrived. -
Watch something else. Check the score at half time and again at full time then come on here and read about how bad it was, safe in the knowledge that you didn't waste 90 minutes of your life watching it. That's what I do.

Sheffield United vs Newcastle United - 12/1/21 - 6pm (Live on Sky)

This has the potential to be the poorest quality football match in Premier League history. Once again I won't be watching. -
He just hasn't got a clue. He's trying to complicate things coming out with rubbish like that to try to justify his (lack of any) tactics. To get higher up the pitch you need to have possession of the football. If you rarely have the ball you are going to be defending and stuck in your own half more than anything else. It's hardly rocket science.

Back in the day when we were bigger than City, Chelsea and Spurs. Anyone who wasn’t around during this time can never appreciate how big this fucking club can be. Literally everywhere you went, and I mean anywhere in England, Europe or further afield you bumped into someone wearing one of those tops. If you had one on and were in another part of the world you were stopped by locals constantly wanting to talk about Alan Shearer or Kevin Keegan. We were absolutely massive back then, not just making up the numbers. I still remember a Daily Mirror article circa 1996 which displayed a league table of the top selling replica kit sales in the UK and we were top by miles (Rangers 2nd, Man Utd 3rd).

First win in 30 games stretching all the way back to last January! Amazingly the win lifted them off the bottom of the league as well. They finished runners up to Bayern Munich 2 seasons ago.
-
Thought it was him. He was slagging SAFC off something rotton the other week for it so they probably wanted rid anyway.
-
He got us relegated with a squad that included Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Perez, Krul, Coloccini, Janmaat and Townsend. Look at our PPG once Rafa took over, it would have had us in 11th place over the course of the season.

That's 430 minutes now without a goal from open play. I'm not watching it but it sounds shite going off comments here/on twitter. -
Would rather the forum didn't die like but I get where you're coming from. Do worry about this place on occasion, particularly with forums generally being surpassed by Twitter and the likes. Keep posting, people. This place was dying on its arse before all the takeover talk started in the Spring. You could literally go a couple of hours without a single new post appearing during the day time. When I joined up 11 years ago it was very busy and at times it was a struggle to keep with things it was so busy. Twitter has had a massive effect but so does the teams performance as well. The fans are bored, and other than for the spell under Rafa, have been for a long time. Gets tiring moaning about Ashley/Bruce all time when I can't even be arsed to watch the team on TV anymore.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Frank in at Tottenham

They have any decent players? Not really. Ozan Kobak is a quality centre half and it's rumoured that Liverpool might go in for him in the transfer window but other than him not much. They'll be forced to sell as well. They're a basket case club and they have debts that are spiralling out of control. They literally had to beg their season ticket holders not to take a refund for games missed due to COVID as they couldn't afford to reimburse them. Quite sad really. They are traditionally Germanys 3rd biggest club and have 160,000 members, only Bayern have more. They have a 62k stadium that they sold out every week but they are certainties for relegation. They've gone something like 30 games without winning in the league, going back to last season. -
Villa are light years ahead of us like. Only their 2nd season back in the PL after 3 years in the Championship as well.

It's his 60th birthday on Thursday. The reaction could be interesting when the NUFC social media team offer their birthday wishes on Twitter and Facebook.

I've gone from being a season ticket holder for best part of 30 years (went 12 years without missing a single home game, including friendlies and Anglo Italian Cup games) and regular away traveller to the point where I am now and that is I've watched us twice all season on TV, both times I was bored beyond belief and felt virtually no emotion whatsoever. I won't bother watching these 3 games over Xmas and New Year either.
