  1. Agree, I'm rapidly losing interest in everything football related at the minute. This is almost me, I've more or less lost touch with English football. Watched 3 live games all season, all NUFC, and haven't really got into any of them when I've been watching them, playing on my phone and only giving them half my attention which would have been unheard of not so long ago! Mixture of a lot of things. The failed takeover, no fans in the stadiums and Steve Bruce being the obvious ones. Started taking an interest in the Bundesliga on BT and I'm quite enjoying that mind.
  2. I usually like your posts but sorry that is rubbish for me like. Pardew was levels above this fat mess we have now and also Pardew never claimed to be “one of us” either. There was a lot of good football and we used to score a fair few goals too. 5th place and a 10th place. European quarter final and also we were in the top half when he left us mid season too. Also he generally talked the club up rather than put it down all the time I remember him coming out and rightly saying we are a bigger club than Everton for example. Absolute and unmitigated horseshite. Nah there was, especially during that 5th placed finish season and we had that spell when Cisse, Ba, and Ben Arfa were virtually unplayable with Cabaye pulling the strings behind them and Coloccini different class at the back. That season alone games at home to Blackburn, Stoke home and away (they were a tough team to beat back then), Man Utd home and away, West Brom away, Liverpool home, Chelsea away were all excellent performances and showed we could go up against the bigger clubs and give them a game. I really enjoyed a lot of the football we played that season.
  3. How do you come to that conclusion?
  4. We had a few highs under Pardew. Obviously there's the 4-4, the 5th place finish, the Europa League run, quite a few surprising one off wins, beating Man Utd at Old Trafford for the first time in 41 years, but with Bruce there's nowt. It's just been an absolute shitfest, and amazingly it's getting worse.
  5. He's been saying it for about a year... I find amusing that Ashley, the buyers, the PL and the lawyers don’t know what way it’s gonna go yet but there are a few in here that will tell you every single day that it’s happening and just to wait Truth is nobody knows which way it is going to go. Its all speculation and opinion, which tbf is what forums like this are all about. My gut feeling from the very beginning is that it won't go through based on nothing more than me just not being able to imagine NUFC being the richest club in world football!
  6. I know we’d like to think Ashley is an idiot but he isn’t. He might be a twat and he doesn’t give a toss about our club but he’s not an idiot. He's an idiot when it comes to making football decisions. He's certainly made many idiotic decisions during his time here.
  7. It's a disgrace that we're even taking about this. 3 seasons of comfortable mid table and over £100m invested in the team in the last 18 months. It's an absolute shambles.
  8. Aye he was like. People keep calling him Keith was getting as tedious as any of his patter.
  9. Bit harsh like. The thread had turned to shit but he certainly wasn't the only culprit if you look at the last couple of pages.
  10. Edwards is an enemy of this club. He spends most of his time trolling the fans and his desperation for this takeover to fall through is there for all to see. I don't know if he has any inside info or if Keith doesn't know as much as he lets on but I'll always side with the person who is with me, not against me. Whatever the outcome, it won't be because of anything Luke Edwards or Keith has done.
  11. Luke is a troll, but he was the first to report the Willock deal and first to confirm Choudry wasn't coming so regardless of the fact he is a wind up merchant of the highest order it is clear not everything he says is nonsense. I do agree though that he comes across as having the viewpoint the takeover has no chance when I don't see how that can be the case give arbitration etc. Means nowt. He's on good terms with Bruce so he could get stuff like that off him no problem. Off field matters such as the takeover are different altogether. Off field matters are different, but again, he was first to confirm issues with the deal in the summer and the first to confirm it had fallen through so unfortunately on two bits of really shit news he was right. We can't just discredit his sources because he's a dick. Anyway, back to the confirmation we have have about Keith being "in direct contact" with those involved in the bid... He's probably the only reporter up here still on good terms with Bruce so for transfers and team news he could well have a direct source there. Considering he's been against Staveley and her Consortium from the start I very much doubt they are giving him any inside info.

  13. He's absolutely desperate for it not to happen. It's nailed on somebody will twat him when fans are allowed back in
  14. Caulkin got just about everything wrong regarding the takeover last year, which is why he's hardly mentioned it since. Whatever people think of Keith, he's in direct contact with people involved in the deal.
  15. The obvious question is how did this get through the fit and proper persons test? Then you realsie this takeover had no chance of upsetting the applecart so there was no need for "the big 6" to get involved. Feel for Burnley mind, this doesn't look good.
  16. A few press people have commented that with the empty stadiums it becomes apparent how vocal Dubravka is compared to Darlow. Seemingly it was very obvious during the Cup game at The Emirates. Aside from that Dubravka is the far more commanding goalkeeper and shot stopping they are pretty similar. Darlow has came in and done far better than anyone expected but for me, now that Dubravka is fit he should be back in goal.

    Joelinton

I know Tom, his shop is just up the road from me. He is a Toon fan like!
  18. The Graeme Jones effect will se us to a 3-1 win. Brace for Big Joe and a farewell goal from Matt Ritchie.
  19. He wasn't very good under Rafa either tbf.
  20. Not watching today but he's way below what's required at Premier League Level. It's one thing looking good against League 2 plodders in the 2nd Round of the League Cup or out on loan in the Championship but he's not cut out for it at this level.
  21. This is what we need. Fans can't get in the ground so a good old fashioned players revolt could be handy.
  22. That was me who put that on twitter.
  23. People vouched for him that he was genuine and would pay up so as I said on December 9th, I was happy to take the bet on. He pays £500 to the foodbank if the takeover hasn't gone through by January 31st and if it did I would (have been absolutely delighted!) to hand over £500 to the Food Bank. Just seen this mate, I’m good for my word and I’ve posted proof every time I’ve donated Wallsendmag[/member] I know you have pal and people vouched for you at the time that you were genuine. Then it’s a deal and looking likely I’m out of pocket I can honestly, hand on heart, say I'm gutted to be winning this bet even though I always expected to. At least it's to a very worthy cause. You’re a good man and like you say it’s a worthy cause, not that I’m. Out of pocket exactly as we donate that amount every January anyway... Class
