I'd rather pack the football in altogether, and I'm being serious there as well.

Lots of racism started creeping into the thread and plenty of what you would class as malicious content, even internet hate crime. It was only a matter of time before a few of them got their collar felt so rather than issuing warnings or bans they moved it to a padlocked area of the forum. Honestly I didn't expect them to exactly be ecstatic with our takeover (I'd be the same if it was the other way around tbh) and our great season rubs an awful lot of salt into their wounds, but I never, ever thought it would hit them as hard as this.

It's true. I was at a talk in with Tony Cottee at the Assembley Rooms a few years ago and ended up sat right next to him as I was on the top table and he was telling us all about it. Said it was a petrifying experience and he remembers just standing there thinking "bloody hell its only a football match!" Was a really canny bloke actually. A friend of mine knew the bloke who threw the petrol bomb. They used to drink in the same club. Said he was a nice, quiet bloke but detested Cockneys!

There is a very good reason why they are nicknamed the "Scouse Mackems". I'm just hoping they can renew aquaintances next season in the Champo.

Safe standing is a must for next season. Agree atmopshere was shite yesterday until the penalty. For some reason our club are more arsey than anywhere else for fans standing in seated areas so this needs rectified at the quickest opportunity. For me the obvious area to start would be the Gallowgate upper and the Strawberry Corner. Probably a combined capacity of around 6k there so that's a good starting point. Fans need to lobby the club for a meeting to put forward suggestions and for this I wouldn't even bother with the Trust. I'd be more hopeful of a positive outcome if we could get representatives from Wor Flags to speak with the club on this matter instead. Obviously they already have a great relationship with the club and secondly I think they can read the the room better, so to speak. The certainly seem more aligned with the fans than NUST are and I'd say they have far more respect from the general fanbase as well. I'd be happier with them speaking to the relevant people, as opposed The Trust when it comes to things atmosphere related.

It's going to be a hell of a scramble when the home tickets go on sale. Suppose it's on occasions like this where being a Sunderland fan can have its advantages. I recall them having 17k empty seats for their League Cup Semi Final, whereas we could sell SJP out twice over for this one.

We needed it. Fulham were very well organised and so hard to break down. ASM and Isak just unsettled them that bit and we were getting that bit more space.

Their lack of self awareness regarding Joelinton is astounding. They are completely and utterly broken.

We looked far better 2nd half with him in the team. He stretches defences, he immediately creates more space for others. Bruno is head and shoulders our best player but we looked better when he went off and ASM came on. I'd like to see Longstaff sacrificed so Joelinton can play in the middle with Bruno and Willock so we can get ASM back on the pitch more regularly.

Coventry got attacked inside the Three Bulls off The Gremlins after an FA Cup game. A mate of mine (who is actaully a really canny lad away from football) done 18 months for it. After every home loss they start a thread about how they battered the opposition fans afterwards and use it as some sort of comfort blanket. The reality is that the only video footage of any of these "batterings' was after they played Cardiff and surrounded one of their fans coaches with kids and families on. After a minute or so some Cardiff "lads" appear and the mackems shut themselves and pretend that they are now somehow the victims.

The home tie must be the biggest we've played at St James' Park since the last League Cup Semi Final in 1976. We also had the UEFA Cup Semi Final in 2004 but the 1st Leg was at home making it slightly less significant as it couldn't be decided that night. Suppose even the Fairs Cup Final couldn't even be settled at SJP as we still had to go over to Hungary for the 2nd Leg. What a night it promises to be!

There was 1000s and 1000s of ticketless Toon fans travelled in 98 and 99. I had a ticket both times but some of my mates who travelled didn't and they said it was class. 98 was when the town got smashed up afterwards so it was probably better being in London!

Aye mine was in 96 and 98. Tunnel was on my left. Think i was about 3 rows from the front in 98, awful view. In 99 I was more in the corner but in the upper tier which was much better and in 2000 I was towards tne back of the lower section which was ok. Just totally rubbish memories of the place though.

Could be the biggest blessing in diguise of all time given that we now have that free weekend in between the 2 ties.

Been there 4 times (Charity Shield, FA Cup Final x2, us one Semi Final and yes we had that same end every time. Assumed it's because we are the most Northern club.
