  1. If ever we needed an early goal in a game it's this one. If it stays at 0-0 well into the 2nd half the tension will be unbareable knowing they just need a goal to take ir to pens.
  2. Their fans have been reduced to lobbying the club to make the replay ticlets as cheap as they possibly can in order to avoid yet another 4 figure cup attendance
  3. Agree about the players names not getting cheered beforehand like they did back then but generally speaking the atmosphere wasn't any different for run of the mill games. Just check the NUFC.com archives for the matches from that time and they are bemoaning the lack of atmosphere. At one point it got so bad under SBR that the club took it upon themselves to organise a "flag day" to try to lift things for a match against Spurs and about 6 people brought flags along and it was flat as a fart!
  4. The atmosphere under SBR was poor other than for the big games. Even the CL games other than the Juventus one were flat. Even under KK it was excellent when he first arrived, as was the 92/93 season then it started to die off as soon as we got into the Premier League outwith the big games.
  5. 24,000 there (exactly half full) asked to turn up wearing green, for a match against a team who play in green You really couldn't make it up
  6. Joelinton got no shit other than on Social Media. When Bruce was here our crowd was so listless and passive they couldn't raise the energy to give anyone any stick, including Bruce.
  7. They mock us (and rightly so) when our lot do it so when I seen him last night the opportunity to catch some evidence was too good to turn down.
  8. I took that photo last night
  9. Would go down as the biggest shock in Scottish football history I reckon. Aberdeen have won the Scottish Cup 7 times, the League 4 times, the League Cup 6 times, and even beat Real Madrid to win the Cup Winners Cup. Still 1-0 to Darvel and we're into stoppage time.
  10. Used to love the tannoy announcements during the match in the 90s telling someone their wife had just gone into labour or that their car was blocking the road. Edited. Just read through the last page there and this has already been mentioned
  11. A load of people in the corner were issued with letters before the Fulham game threatening them with bans for persistent standing. Frustrating when every week you see whole stands stood up for the entire match. Safe standing, and soon, is of vital importance.
  12. Love how they all called us Flag Nonces when it was clear as day that they were massively jealous of our flag displays. Now to prove that, they've now turned into flag nonces themselves! Same story with our takeover. All this gnashing of teeth is just trying to cover up how extremely jealous they are of us. It's all quite tragic and hilarious in equal measure really
  13. Huddersfield, the first home game of the 16/17 season was their first display.
  14. PSV Eindhoven v Vitesse Arnhem tomorrow night.
  15. Nottm Forest Notts County This is very important!
  16. I'd rather pack the football in altogether, and I'm being serious there as well.
  17. Lots of racism started creeping into the thread and plenty of what you would class as malicious content, even internet hate crime. It was only a matter of time before a few of them got their collar felt so rather than issuing warnings or bans they moved it to a padlocked area of the forum. Honestly I didn't expect them to exactly be ecstatic with our takeover (I'd be the same if it was the other way around tbh) and our great season rubs an awful lot of salt into their wounds, but I never, ever thought it would hit them as hard as this.
  18. It's true. I was at a talk in with Tony Cottee at the Assembley Rooms a few years ago and ended up sat right next to him as I was on the top table and he was telling us all about it. Said it was a petrifying experience and he remembers just standing there thinking "bloody hell its only a football match!" Was a really canny bloke actually. A friend of mine knew the bloke who threw the petrol bomb. They used to drink in the same club. Said he was a nice, quiet bloke but detested Cockneys!
  19. There is a very good reason why they are nicknamed the "Scouse Mackems". I'm just hoping they can renew aquaintances next season in the Champo.
  20. Safe standing is a must for next season. Agree atmopshere was shite yesterday until the penalty. For some reason our club are more arsey than anywhere else for fans standing in seated areas so this needs rectified at the quickest opportunity. For me the obvious area to start would be the Gallowgate upper and the Strawberry Corner. Probably a combined capacity of around 6k there so that's a good starting point. Fans need to lobby the club for a meeting to put forward suggestions and for this I wouldn't even bother with the Trust. I'd be more hopeful of a positive outcome if we could get representatives from Wor Flags to speak with the club on this matter instead. Obviously they already have a great relationship with the club and secondly I think they can read the the room better, so to speak. The certainly seem more aligned with the fans than NUST are and I'd say they have far more respect from the general fanbase as well. I'd be happier with them speaking to the relevant people, as opposed The Trust when it comes to things atmosphere related.
  21. They come out with this shite every time they lose a football match without fail. Absolutely mental they are
  22. It's going to be a hell of a scramble when the home tickets go on sale. Suppose it's on occasions like this where being a Sunderland fan can have its advantages. I recall them having 17k empty seats for their League Cup Semi Final, whereas we could sell SJP out twice over for this one.
  23. We needed it. Fulham were very well organised and so hard to break down. ASM and Isak just unsettled them that bit and we were getting that bit more space.
