  1. Their lack of self awareness regarding Joelinton is astounding. They had Niall Quinn, as their owner, gave him a testimonial and even did a display for him this season, even though nobody knew what it was meant to be, the point still stands. Then they signed Marcus Alonso 3 years after he killed a bairn in his car and that's before you enter the murky Adam Johnson saga. I honestly think they're that far gone now they don't even realise what they're saying. They've even resorted to stopping NUFC fans replying to the NUFC threads on their board now. They are completely and utterly broken.
  2. We looked far better 2nd half with him in the team. He stretches defences, he immediately creates more space for others. Bruno is head and shoulders our best player but we looked better when he went off and ASM came on. I'd like to see Longstaff sacrificed so Joelinton can play in the middle with Bruno and Willock so we can get ASM back on the pitch more regularly.
  3. Coventry got attacked inside the Three Bulls off The Gremlins after an FA Cup game. A mate of mine (who is actaully a really canny lad away from football) done 18 months for it. Got to say I've never understood why somebody would literally want to fight someone else because they support a different football team to them.
  4. Middlesbrough put the windows through in the Three Bulls.
  5. And Chelsea, and Leeds. Happens fairly regularly outside the away end and towards Barrack Road as well as round the station although we aren't pathetic enough to boast about it as, well, it's hardly something to boast about.
  6. After every home loss they start a thread about how they battered the opposition fans afterwards and use it as some sort of comfort blanket. The reality is that the only video footage of any of these "batterings' was after they played Cardiff and surrounded one of their fans coaches with kids and families on. After a minute or so some Cardiff "lads" appear and the mackems shut themselves and pretend that they are now somehow the victims.
  7. The home tie must be the biggest we've played at St James' Park since the last League Cup Semi Final in 1976. We also had the UEFA Cup Semi Final in 2004 but the 1st Leg was at home making it slightly less significant as it couldn't be decided that night. Suppose even the Fairs Cup Final couldn't even be settled at SJP as we still had to go over to Hungary for the 2nd Leg. What a night it promises to be!
  8. There was 1000s and 1000s of ticketless Toon fans travelled in 98 and 99. I had a ticket both times but some of my mates who travelled didn't and they said it was class. 98 was when the town got smashed up afterwards so it was probably better being in London!
  9. It's a mackem who runs that account tbf, so it's probably more a dig at us.

    Joelinton

I just know. If you go back about 5 hours and a lot of pages on this thread you can see I mentioned something a long time before the story broke.

Blew 43. The limit is 35 and the threshold for being charged is 40.

Hope he hasn't blotted his copybook here mind
  13. Aye mine was in 96 and 98. Tunnel was on my left. Think i was about 3 rows from the front in 98, awful view. In 99 I was more in the corner but in the upper tier which was much better and in 2000 I was towards tne back of the lower section which was ok. Just totally rubbish memories of the place though.
  14. Could be the biggest blessing in diguise of all time given that we now have that free weekend in between the 2 ties.
  15. Been there 4 times (Charity Shield, FA Cup Final x2, us one Semi Final and yes we had that same end every time. Assumed it's because we are the most Northern club.
  16. He even wrote a song for us. "You've got to be in the Toon Army to be in the Champions League" when we qualified for the CL.
  17. Haha still remember his "Mungo Mags" flag! Somebody stole my wife, Lady Rose. Classics that would be playing non stop! He even got him to perform for us at The Trafford Park hotel before the Spurs Semi Final. What a day!
  18. I think a lot of us forgot what this club really meant to us during the dark days of Ashley and him basically hijacking it from us. I'm sat here 3 o'clock in the morning having not got back from the town till 1am just watching all the reaction, Howe's interview, the 2 goals about 50 times each, reading through the match thread on here over and over again and the adrenaline is still pumping through me. I've got to be up for work at 8am. Not going to bed now, won't be able to sleep. Just can't remember the last time I felt like this. Barcelona 3-2 maybe, or the Man Utd 5-0. I'm just totally buzzing. I can't thank our owners enough. They've transformed this club and city into something I never thought I'd see again. Eddie Howe. Can't praise the bloke enough. Took us from relegation certs to Champions League contenders and League Cup Semi Finalists in the space of 12 months. Then there's the players. Have we ever had such a likeable bunch playing for us? They go out there and look like they'd die for this club. I love them all. Finally Wor Flags. They help create the backdrop to all this. They bring the colour and the magic to the stands. They appealed to the crowd tonight and the crowd gave an amazing respone. Our owners love them, the players love them. I love them! NUFC man. What a club.

    Joelinton

The interchanges between him and Willock were incredible to watch. Leicester just didn't know how to deal with it. Bruno probably the best player on the pitch for me as he just totally controlled the game but Willock/Joelinton were a joy to watch. And you're right, the amount of ground they can cover is unbelieveable. Just pure athletes.
  20. It was epic tonight. Obviously the players need to perform on the pitch first and foremost but clearly they were given a huge lift and helping hand when they came out to that sort of reception and little wonder they came flying out the blocks. Hope Sky done it justice (they probably didn't) because it was an incredible sight.
  21. He started going back when Ashley left, although not straight away. Took a few months into the new ownership. Looks like he was there tonight and in the East Stand near where he used to sit going off the photo he took of the flag. We travelled regular with Toon Travel from 1994. No doubt I'll know your face!
  22. Good to see Keith Barrett, who the original flag belonged to, comment on it on Facebook tonight.
