I saw a video about their stadiums, the one in the picture with football players on the sign is supposed to be highlights or television. Every clip they used in the video was blatantly ripped off of ESPN's 2006 highlight package.

I'm not worried about the US getting it or not, as I'm sure they'll get '26, but I don't think this was the right time to go with Qatar. You had the US or Australia, even if they had conflicting stadiums, Australia have the money to make more. At this point, Qatar have the money to support this, despite being particularly small. But who fucking knows in 2022? Look at the UAE, they were rich for a few years before going all out on tourism and going completely bankrupt. This is probably what will happen to Qatar. A small nation like that can only last so long spending so much money, the oil business can drastically change in the next twelve years as well with the reemergence of electrical cars. This was just not a safe pick at all, especially after picking two third world countries and one run by the mafia. And I haven't even mentioned fans from around the world who don't want to be going to Brazil, Russia, or Qatar. Just so many factors make this a poor choice.

That's how every newscaster says it over here. A week ago a friend and I spent an hour on the internet trying to find out how it was pronounced, we still don't really know. Have an idea, but we can't actually say it because it's pretty much untranslatable. Qa as in 'cap' without the p then tar as in 'target' That's how I've always said it but apparently it's wrong.
