The rest of the midfield handled them fine, Guthrie was definitely the weak link. I don't think he was awful, but he wasn't very good. So Guthrie isn't as good as Jonas or Tiote? Well we all knew that. Nolan and Barton wouldn't have done much better in that CM space today. I personally think barton would have. BTW,wheres this "guthrie can't do right" statement come from? the impression I've always had is that the vast majority of posters on here have been very patient with him. too patient imo. He comes out and gives a decent performance and all anybody has is criticism for him. I've never seen 'the usual suspects' give him any prasie whatsoever. Well, I particularly like Guthrie as a player, just think he's struggled this season. I think I've given the impression of it being a decent performance by him, but it could've been much better. Don't think he's exactly deserving of praise when you have an okay game.

Pretty much comes down to Harry. Him saying they were title contenders then beating Arsenal is always going to cause an overreaction and a twitch or two.

A quicker Barton and more physical Nolan probably would've done much better in my eye's, a lot of Guthrie's mistakes didn't come down to Chelsea being good, they came down to Guthrie.

Good half. I was going to say at half we need to be much less sloppy on both sides of the ball, but they've scored already. We could seriously be up 2-0, 3-1, etc. at this point. Better, more careful passes, less tentative at the back.
