Was just saying this. Barca playing like this against a mid table la liga side would often be 4-0 up at half time, maybe'll they're the side that'll have to "dig in".

Are there any many united fans there?

Darren Peacock had one leg an inch longer than the other, but hidn't run round in circles did he? Oh hang about...
-
Once again, having not played since his injury how would anyone know?
-
Nobodys seen him play since the injury, what a complete fucktard!

Has any regime ever ran the box office efficiently?

As much as i'd love to jump on the cockney mafia bandwagon, the club are simply being shrewd. Barton isn't young enough to call the shots, (like Enrique) and the club know it. If he was to go this summer it's unlikely he'd get more money elsewhere, and if he waits 12 months he's a year older and a year less valuable. I hope he stays, but it's not the end of the world if he doesn't.

Amazing, I've been exactly the same We NEED to sign him!

This. It's a load of shite. Anyone who's ever bought a car knows what's going on here. The guy wants ten grand you offer him nine, he tells you to fuck off so you say ok. Yous both stand staring at your shoes for ten minutes and agree nine and a half is about right. Joey will sign a new deal next week.

That's a weird one. You'd have thought a Ukranian would have stuck with his home country instead of the one that occupied it.

Is this rule unique to Ireland, or has it been used elsewhere in countrys that have been divided or had some sort of political shift. I'm thinking when the USSR broke up, or maybe Yugoslavia. I can't see the problem with it myself. Every single one of the lads that headed south is clearly from a nationalist background and as such will have always had one foot in the republic anyway. In spirit if nothing else. Good luck to them i say, although maybe compensation is deserved for the IFA.

Last August they had their best team in living memory, apparently. They could even challenge the top four. Come May they've lost their only goal scorer and finished mid table, a point above us, a newly promotod team. Oh and been humped 5-1 in front of the Sky cameras. But the season has been a success because they finished above us - which just about sums Sunderland up in one sentence. Fucking smalltime.

Pride well and truely restored.

I was a big fan of his throughout his time at bayern, when people were doubting his inclusion in svens squads. Thought he was a cracking player. That was years ago, wouldn't have the cunt gift wrapped now like.
-
It looks worse now than it did when it was announced. Jesus wept it's bad. Nike please for next season.
-
So why do you think he hasnt been called up this season?! It's a case of banging on the door a bit longer. How old is there cuurent LB? 32 or 33? They need to look for the next LB and Joses time will come whoever he's playing for, just my opinion of course. Like i said above i think he's using it as an excuse to go to a bigger club.
-
To be honest i think the "i want to play for spain" thing is a load of old bollocks. What he really means is "i want to play for a bigger club". I'll admit he should have been called up already. But if he stayed with us and continued to turn in great performances, and improve further, i'm convinced he'd been capped sooner rather than later. He's too good not to be.

Can we win the Premier League minus the 'Big Six' next season?
henke replied to RupertCommunicator's topic in Football
If ~£30mil is invested wisely then yes. Massive, massive if though. -
For the first time in as long as anyone can remember we have a back four that doesn't scare the shit out of you. I remember watching us away at arsenal at my dads, and him saying how surreal it was watching us look so comfortable and safe against a top side. Whatever they threw at us they weren't getting through, and having watched kamikaze defending for my entire life it was as enjoyable as a 5-0 win. Jose has played a massive part in this, Colos calmness too but if Jose goes i'm terrified we'll regress years.

Re: Get rid of the Ginger Geordie bastard I get your point, but do you type with your forehead? Read more: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=593343#ixzz1MlzBT6Ko This just made me LOL cereal all over the laptop, top work.

Not at all. My thoughts were largely shaped by a discussion i was having at work yesterday - who we could sign that would get us 12-15 goals next season. And looking around the premier league at strikers, then wheighing up what they'd cost as a transfer fee / wages package there isn't anyone that fits the bill. Carlton Cole is potentially a decent striker, with the right people behind him he could get us goals, and at the reported £7mil he'd probably fit the fee and wages in our budget. All ifs and buts though, and he could be utter dogshit, which is why i reckon we'll bring some kid in from holland nobodys ever heard of.

Peter Odemwingie just over a million and he wont be on 50 grand at W.B.A. Javier Hernandez was 7m or so and he wont be on 50 grand either seeing as Man Utd are talking about doubling his wages as he's done so well. Marouane Chamakh on a free, i know he hasn't been brilliant but is a good player who maybe be better for a season in our league, Arsenal dont pay mental wages either. Decent scouting along the Odemwingie, Hernandez route means you can pick a good striker for a decent fee and they dont have to be some superstar name or ego, got be lucky to spot them but thats we pay international scouts (Carr) for That's sort of my point. We'd be hoping to find the next Hernandez. And in terms of "established" strikers then Carlton Cole is about the best we can expect.
-
If i were a gambling man i'd have money on us signing, or at least gtrying to sign Carlton Cole. Even if we were planning to spend the whole £35mil on one player we're limited by the wages we'll pay. I can't think of a prolific striker on less that £40k to £50, and i just can't see us paying that, so we won't be getting one.

Of our 3 keepers forster has looked the best this season. He's played virtuallyevery game and barely put a foot wrong, andat 23 he's only going to get better. If he isn't starting, or at least in contention here, then we've dropped a bollock.
