12 months ago i honestly couldn't care less about joey barton. If we'd have released him it wouldn't have bothered me. But i remember reading an interview of his sometime around the start of this season, and it was as though he'd grown up. Before a ball had even been kicked. Something had changed. Bartons turn around in the space of about 6 months is nothing short of phenomenal.

When we went down Carroll wasn't up to much for the first half of the season. It was only after shola got injured he stepped up, thankfully.

All the best to Andy, i say. He wanted a big pay rise, which he wasn't going to get with us. The club felt that the money was way too good to turn down. He's gone so lets just get on with it.

I've no hard feeling towards carroll. I'd love to see the texts between him and the lads after todays match though.
