  1. I love it when the press make a big deal about us signing another french player so for that reason alone i'd like to see Gomis coming in on a cut price deal. Plus he looks like predator. Nah joking aside, from what i've seen of him i'd be happy with Gomis.
  2. Very true, maybe he'll have a rush of ambition Hahahaha i'm honestly laughing out loud here.
  3. We only spent last year because we looked like we were going down. Why on earth would Ashley spend this time round?
  4. Sorry i was pissed and being a bit silly, he was crap though.
  5. My team leader at my old job played for England schoolboys in the late 50's. He grew up in Salford, was on the books at Man United, knew Eddie Colman well although he was a few years younger. (Colman died in the Munich air disaster) I dunno wether it was an injury or what but it didn't work out for him. Well it can't have done if non-woven shoe linings seemed a better career. Anyway our guy turned out for the factory side when he was in his fifties. We were playing a friendly against another factory in the pre-season and fuck me he was shit, i could have ran rings round him.
  6. 74 - Chat 11 - Football 1 - Games Disturbingly, it's only recently you've started making threads in the footy section. I used to stay out of here, that's when I was a happy/vaguely popular poster. I then turned into a radge. Chat's better, fuck knas why I bother with it in here. I used to have about 2000 more posts in the footy section back in the day, now the chat section have overtaken it by over 1000. Chat >>> Games >>>>>> Help >>>>>>>>> Bans >>>>>>> Footy section There's a chat section?

    Tony Green

I saw Milburn play in a testimonial when he was in his 50s and it is not true to say he was just about pace and shooting ; he was skilful on the ball and even at that age, could turn a defender beautifully. At any mention of Milburn my dad will talk the hind legs off any nearby donkeys regarding the time he saw the great man play in a testimonial. Apparently he hit the bar at one point with a shot that would have been the greatest goal ever. Milburn that was, not me father.
  8. I find it hard to believe he stormed out as that would have shown he has a backbone, which is the one thing that's held him back his entire time with us.
  9. Did he actually say that stuff, i mean is his english that good?

I think Arsenal players practice their ref conning in training. Very good at falling in all areas of the pitch to turn a slightly physical contact in to winning a foul. Helps break up play and keep possession very well. I think are Arsenal are just very "cute", it comes from playing regular champions league football.
  11. That was one of them moments where Hoddle utterly baffled me.
  12. Glenn Hoddle is a strange bloke, sometimes i really like what he has to say and other times i haven't a clue what he's on about. I'd have liked to seen him get the spurs job though because i think he still has a lot to offer. I'm sure that opinion isn't unanimous.
  13. Gomis in by next weekend then a statement from Ashley himself saying we've shut up shop for January. Sorted.
  14. Has that happened in Germany? I can't see any more folk falling in a safe standing section than currently fall over the seat in front etc. In fact in some respects safe standing is actually safer as there's a rail in front of every row. I'm old enough to remember standing at SJP and to be honest, the sooner it returns the better.
  15. Any neutral tuning into match of the day would think that Stoke were absolutely robbed. When in fact the only decision they can reasonably argue against is the ball crossing the goal line for Gouffrans goal. Personally i think it was too close to call and they're all a bunch of horrible cunts on a par with the mackems.
  16. Cabayes going, no cunts coming in, Ashley's still a wanker and Jim White gets on my tits. That's January in a sentence. Save yourself the hassle of being glued to SSN / hammering F5 on here.
  17. I know it's been said before but the way he's playing i think he'd be mad to move 5 months before before the world cup. However the lure of a "big" club and a hefty pay rise could well tempt him. But like Disco said, a "big" club actually needs to bid. And apart from a monsense bid from Arsenal there's been nowt.
  18. They reckon with what hotels are charging the only option available is to get locked up. Not sure i'd fancy that much.
  19. Two seasons ago we had the best defence in the league up to about december, or near enough. Until Steven Taylor went pop against Chelsea we were conceding the fewest goals any of us could ever remember, but nicking games by the odd goal. It was new and very different to for us and felt brilliant. Don't get me wrong i'm thrilled with this season so far. But it didn't start great, in fact many including me thought we'd struggle. So that's probably why the buzz isn't what it was a couple of years back. Then there's the total lack of confidence in our owner, and the belief that we're a £10m to £20m investment from a really good side.
  20. Pay a tenner into my paypal acount and i'll give you 600/1. I was about to click "post" when i thought here henke lad you could be talking yourself into real trouble here. I think i would actually pay £6000 to see us win the league, but i can't afford it.
  21. Weren't we top of the league at Christmas in about 2001, or have i imagined that?
  22. henke we have a very good side who should be pushing for Europa league, I don't think that's an unrealistic expectation personally. I think it's perfectly reasonable to be optimistic. I also think it's resonable to want or maybe expect to see some commitment from our owner, but i just can't see it happening. Which is such a massive shame.
