Well tbh, I love the stadium no matter how bad Ashley tries to make it look hideous. Sometimes I do feel SJP looks a bit dark during the winter or evening games. However, I also feel it seems brighter or better lit when the match is broadcast LIVE. Don't know if it has anything to do with the different cameras Sky use for Live matches and for the highlights but my eyes do sometimes notice this. Seem to remember the stadium was even more darker before the Leazes/Milburn redevelopment, especially during the early Premiership days. I think Old Trafford upgraded their lighting too not too far back. Before that, every night match that took place there look liked it was being played on a farm with the shit pitch they had too.

More than likely our match against City on the opening weekend will be on Sky when the TV games are announced on Wednesday. I'm sure Sky would pick our match. Sunday 4pm would be the most probable seeing City are the defending champions though having a Monday night 1st game at home match would be nice too. Will the clubs and Sky decide what time the derby will take place this time without the police advice? Remember the controversy last season about the timing? Now that the police have said they won't put any restrictions on when the match can take place, a Sunday 4pm or Monday night game before Christmas is more than likely.

The fixtures could work against Pardew though. Apart from the opening match, the games look easy on paper but if he has a poor start, the fans won't wait until the final games of the season to do a walkout again. I doubt Pardew can get away with anymore dodgy performances against the so called smaller clubs especially at the start of the season.

Wishing we would get the mackems at home on the 1st day of the season when the fixtures are out in an hour..highly unlikely but seeing the King spanked at home on the opening day by them again and the crowd continued where they left off against Cardiff would be something for the press to jump on his back and make him early contender for the sack.. He would probably say Remy and Shola aren't up to speed yet after their World Cup heroics..
