  1. In what sense surprised ? If Rafa wants a large squad he would certainly cover us for league cup games and would provide knowledge to younger players whilst also been an option that will rarely be touched on the bench. Having said all the I dont think he'll sign. Isn't he a lifelong Newcastle fan as well?
  2. Iceland's president-elect Gudni Johannesson will be among the fans, wearing his country's shirt, for Sunday's Euro 2016 quarter-final against hosts France. "Why would I go in the VIP room and sip Champagne when I can do that anywhere in the world?" he asked.

  4. Went onto a Brighton forum, just to see what other Championship clubs think of the signings were making. First comment on there Dwight Gayle thread. "I hope they fail miserably for trying to buy there way out of the league" We're the Man City of the Championship
  5. We actually have decent options up front?

Roy Hodgson has said he was surprised that he has been expected to speak to the media. "I don't know what I'm doing here because I thought my statement last night was sufficient," he said. "I was told by everyone it was important I appear here because people are smarting from our defeat. "I suppose someone has to stand and take the slings and arrows that come with it. "I'm disappointed. I didn't see it coming. I had no indication that we were going to play that badly. "I'm still recovering from what happened. It was not a good night for anybody. "We go home as losers in the last 16 and retain that wretched record of not winning a knock-out game in the tournament." "As a manger, I am responsible so it's not about transferring blame to the players," he says. "We feel very sad we couldn't deliver what we wanted to deliver. "Of course we are sorry we couldn't give the results we were hoping for. There is not much more I can say on the subject."

  19. Really hope you live to regret those words. such confidence when you couldn't top the weakest group in the competition. Scared for when Martial comes on. Really can't see us holding a 1-0 but they look a bit shaky at the back too and McLean and Long have the pace to hurt them. Nerves. Scenes. England are undefeated in ages man and dominate almost every game we play. Sure that doesn't make us invincible but Ireland wouldn't get the ball. If we find our scoring boots against Iceland we could go all the way IMO. If we got France, there's always that quality factor that they have, a player like Payet from a free kick could put us to the sword. FWIW, I don't think Ireland could beat Wales or Slovakia. You could go all the way alright. Iceland ffs. Give it a rest, immediately after the game looking for a bite. give it a rest? I got absolutely slaughtered on here for showing pride in my country getting narrowly beaten by fucking France, in France. Heard all about how England would destroy Ireland and how they'll dominate Iceland. England are fucking shite. And I'm enjoying this because of how people went on at the time. Wouldn't have opened my mouth otherwise. Yeah, unlike some, we're not jubilant at being knocked out a tournament, also you'll find that alot of people on here where supporting Ireland.
