  1. Why even bother at this point with away games if we expect the same thing every game

    Yoane Wissa

I remember 2023 we were getting battered at Brentford (A) when Eddie decides to go two up top with Isak and Wilson at half time - both score and we win 3-1. I think Wissa and Wolte might be a better partnership on paper given their different skillsets - just hope we try it.
  3. Just seen TG’s comments. I regret giving him a second of the attention he craves. He’s making us more of a laughing stock like that.

Yeah that was an impulse, depressed brainfart by me last night Hope BDB recovers well

And yet we made him play on a couple of minutes rather than haul him straight off…
  6. The “poorly coached” might be something Eddie admitted himself. I remember a recent interview when he talks about hoping he had more prep time to coach aspects of Wolte’s game and all that. He needs time to drill things into players. While it’s helped get the best out of the likes of Joelinton and Murphy, it’s ultimately also Eddie’s achilles heel. I don’t recall him ever doing well in a period of twice-weekly games, unless it’s in the middle of a purple patch. I am hopeful of a rebound once we get a one/two week break - see the Man City and Everton (A) sequence after the international break. Still hoping he could find solutions before then, cause we need it fast.
  7. Things like keeping the ball and putting balls in the box for a big striker would be welcome for starters
  8. Don't forget Europa League with Frankfurt as well.
  9. I remember when I was in Singapore and he scored the first Newcastle goal I ever saw live. Was convinced we had that winger we needed for so long then. Now I'd say he's Obertan levels of all pace and no skill, no intelligence.
  10. Anything below this would be a failure to me. - Get to CL knockouts - Finish in the European spots - Get to a cup semifinal/final - Set the record straight in the derby when they come to SJP
  11. A team that doesn't fightback or sees out a win to the end.
  12. Yeah it felt like the Pope howler as well as the Brentford game. Team just looked beat mentally. It felt like our fightback is more hope rather than belief.
  13. Tbf he made changes early this time. But has to go beyond just personnel. If he was gonna drop Tonali it should have been the chance to try Wolte and WIssa up front and ditch that 4-3-3.
  14. He just has that body language wherein you know when he's not in the mood.
  15. Would genuinely like to see the poll refreshed after an impotent derby defeat

    Nick Woltemade

Rest him please. He desperately needs it. Feel sorry for the lad.
  17. This. You just knew from the first few minutes that the former was looking useless and the latter didn't look arsed.
  18. I don't care what we go on to achieve this season. Not turning up (and waiting 70 minutes to shoot) for this is a disgrace of the highest order.
  19. Miley off for Joelinton would have been a game-winning move - it's exactly the kind of run we needed from the middle. The Wissa/Murphy/Ramsay subs would have been the fresh legs needed had it been done earlier. Though I understand that the team had good chances for a third and he probably did not want to disrupt that momentum in the hope that we get it.
  20. If only we could fuse Pope and Ramsdale we would have one of the best in the world.
  21. In his instagram story, he just shared every single NUFC tribute to him except the one from Bruce. Love it
