Making it about me again. The summer is going to be fun.
-
I feel sorry for him like. The amount of mistakes he has made over the last couple of years is actually crazy. It has just all went wrong for him. Even at the weekend he was the one who gave the ball away which led to Fulham's penalty which could have cost us the game and potentially third place. He would have been ridiculed even more for that. Luckily De Gea saved it which is a miracle in itself.
-
Maguire is our fifth choice centre back now and everyone knows it, so I think he'll be difficult to sell on. And I don't think he's terribly ambitious so he's probably happy sitting on the bench for 200k a week and can't see anyone else paying him that. He's going to start for England regardless as long as Southgate is there as well.

Josh King. My sausage is Kaizero.
-
I don't want Fred sold but he's heading into the last year of his contract. £15-20m I would have thought if he was to leave. Maguire? Who's buying him? Big wages, and domestic reputation is in the dumps. I'd be delighted with £30m.
-
They don't give any backing. Not a penny of their own money has been anywhere near the club. We can only spend £120m this summer, the rest would need to be made up from sales. So please buy McTominay. We will have a lot of outgoings this summer.
-
good one. Only way we can actually sell players is by subsidising their wages from the stupid contracts we gave them. We're probably still paying Alexis Sanchez something.
-
Let's be honest, the manager has absolutely nothing to do with the transfer fees. He asked for Antony early. He also wanted De Jong which was never going to happen but our comical recruitment team chased him all summer anyway only to end up overpaying for Casemiro late on. That one worked out luckily enough. I can see the same thing happening this summer. By the sounds of things, Levy won't sell Kane to another Premier League club. We'll probably chase him all summer anyway only to end up panicking and paying £30m more than necessary for someone like Vlahovic or Ramos.
-
We had Ronaldo and Martial in the summer though. Martial was a crock and Ronaldo left mid-season. Circumstances change. That's the entire point of a winter transfer window. Regardless of what came before, when the January transfer window opened we were in dire need of a striker. Manchester United have to do better than Wout Weghorst.
-
I didn't post it. I never post Man United articles on here. That must be the WUM, arrogant side of me that makes me refrain from doing so. To be fair though it is the Other Clubs Transfers thread. If we can't talk about Man United signings in here where can we?
-
He managed him perfectly. He had to go, but that doesn't mean he didn't need replaced. We need two strikers realistically. Nobody was expecting us to go and spend £90m on someone. But Weghorst? Tried to find positives at the time and he worked his arse off but he's so poor. Danny Ings would have been twice the signing.

I have very little time for you unlike the others I responded to, but I will say that I never called you dumb and I think you're quite the opposite of that, which sadly makes everything you say that much worse. I said your analogy was dumb, which it was. You're one of a small number of people on here that are so blinded by bitterness and hatred of Man United that your posts about us are filled with contempt. The same four or five posters like the same anti Man United comments every time. Also, any time anyone tries to have a go at me on here the majority of posters jump to my defence and tend to speak quite highly of me. That's not to say I don't have my moments of seeing red and/or responding with utter guff, but I'm aware of that unlike you. Mods and admins will see posts I've deleted because I feel like I'm being too harsh, coming across as too arrogant or just being a plain idiot. 99% of the time I never reply to you directly. Any posts of mine you reply to are filled with derison and sarcasm like your stupid analogy above. You act like I'm arrogant about my club but it's not true. On the day of the league cup final I asked Beren to ban me for 24 hours because I didn't want my presence rubbing anyone up the wrong way on what was such a monumental occasion for your club. Those aren't the actions of someone who's only intention to is to wind people up. You also need to have more self awareness when you say I have no humility. You have a history of being disliked on this forum. So much so that when you constantly replied to my posts having a go at me I used to receive multiple PM's about how much you bothered other posters, so don't try and have a go at my character because you disagree with what I say. I've been on this forum for 13 years and had hundreds of conversations about Man United with zero issues. The fact you and I can't do that is not my problem but yours. You're best putting me on ignore. It's very rare you have been able to reply to my posts with any sort of respect. It's never going to change.

Couldn't believe he is 70.

You're taking it out of context though by referencing Martinez and Antony. That isn't what he said. Whether we spent £4m or £40m more than our rivals in the summer isn't relevant. The team was a mess and investment was needed. When the manager and team was exceeding expectations but we were crying out for a striker, a club like Manchester United (and a fair other amount of clubs in the league as well, Newcastle included) should be able to go out and buy a competent striker. People forget we lost Ronaldo midseason. We got laughed at when Arnatovic was touted as a replacement, and then we ended up going and getting someone even worse. It was Igahlo all over again. We're better than that, and that's not arrogant. The majority of the league is better than that. Arsenal were exceeding expectations but needed rotation options and went and bolstered the squad. Liverpool were falling behind but went and signed Gakpo. Newcastle exceeding expectations and bolstered the squad with Gordon. I don't understand why people can't grasp how embarassing the Weghorst signing actually was. Bloody Wolves and West Ham went out and signed better strikers in January than we did.
-
Aye, we're not City. We finished 6th last year and got a new manager in. City won the league and kept Pep. City lost 3 first team players in the summer and signed 3. We lost 7 first team players and signed 5. Pretty ridiculous to try and compare. By "spunked it up the wall" do you mean make several top class signings by the way? Strange language. The reason we didn't spend in January is because the Glazer's didn't want to spend. Simple as. Do better. It's 3) Stop using dumb analogies and do better. That's not what anybody said. Do better.
-
That's the only question mark isn't it? Very good player IMO and potentially available on the cheap.

393 apps. Every played keeper for us at one point. Started at least one game in every position except for centre forward. When Keane left the club he started 30+ games in midfield and was the preferred option over Fletcher and Park Ji Sung at the time. Similarly to when Rio got his ban for missing a drugs test, O'Shea was first choice CB for us and started 30+ games again that season. He was much more for us than a utility man. I would say even the most diehard Newcastle fans are appreciative of Burn but know he's one of the first names that will need replaced in order to take the next step up. Tierney would be a monumental upgrade on him at left back.

I literally didn't say any of these things. Point proven, case closed.

Kid Icarus and Manxst like this. Incredibly disappointing yet incredibly predictable. Once again, I don't know if people are just ignoring the article by continuely referencing summer transfers, but the quotes were directly about the winter transfer window. I said about the £65m Arsenal spent because it was spent on reinforcements in January. In April we were still in every competition. We were 5 behind Arsenal in the league at one point. Fatigue and injuries played a massive part in us fading in both the league and the Europa League. Rashford has been carrying a knock for weeks and the goals have dried up. Martial is never fit. Garnacho, Eriksen, Martinez all with long term injuries. Newcastle went and spent £45m+5m on Gordon to bolster the top four charge, we signed Wout Weghorst. Embarrassing. NWe were one injury to Fernandes away from 6th place. Ten Hag asked for Antony when he was half the price by the way. Referencing that transfer just reinforces our point about our incompetent board. Also unsure about the Elliot and Jones comments. Jones played more last season for Liverpool than this season and Elliot is one of their stars for the future. This is all so basic to understand. It's incredible how some genuinely good posters let bitterness and hatred of a club turn them into cartoon versions of themselves. Arsenal, City, Liverpool and Spurs were favourites ahead of us to get into the top four by the way. We quite literally beat the odds. People need to stop thinking of us Sir Alex Ferguson's Man United. We're not that. Not even close.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

I'd cry. Best player on the pitch yesterday.

What planet are you on? Sabitzer's fee to make permanent is £18m so both players combined is about £18m Call it arrogance or call it whatever you want, we're a big enough club that the manager should be able to go out and buy a striker in January and not have to loan players who couldn't even make it at Burnley. We were in all competitions and needed more players. We had lost Ronaldo and were saving £2m a month in wages. Zero excuses.

He's perfect for them unfortunately.

If this was Howe under Ashley you'd be praising him as well for putting pressure on the owners. Be better lads.
