  1. Really looking forward to this game now - I mean the team is canny meh but then it was always going to be. Glad he's broken up the Henderson/Dier partnership, I don't think many other English managers would have.
  2. But our best is, in all honesty, nowhere fucking near as good as Rui Patricio I love the Dub but he's not a top class keeper.
  3. Wolves are going to be annoying.
  4. In all honesty if VAR is to be a thing forever in the game then it makes sense for the referees to wave the penalty away until it goes out of play otherwise there's a clear bias against decisions that are called vs decisions that aren't. Any penalty a referee gives is statistically far more likely to be incorrect than any he refers to VAR. I mean I disagree with it because I think it's absolutely shite but it's the best way to ensure the correct decisions. The potentially pointless play following the incident up until it's reversed is just VAR collateral. its cowardly reffing, if your afraid to make a big call in case your wrong why the fuck are you a referee at the world cup But the point of VAR is that it's meant to eliminate big mistakes as much as possible and the best way to do that with regards to penalties is for referees to wave the decision away until it can be reviewed. I don't want this to happen like.

  6. That's because of the change to offside rule to mean that marginal offsides are never called unless there's a goal or penalty resulting from it. This is what's allowing them to only use it when there's a 'clear and obvious error' but it's a pretty huge change to the game.
  7. The thing is in that situation Miranda needed to be getting more physical anyway - I think that's why initially it just looked poor defending. The goal might not have happened without the push but Zuber would have easily 'climbed' up his back and outjumped him to win the header.
  8. Tbh I think it would have been a soft freekick but I agreed with Ian Wright afterwards, it's a lot harder to wave marginal calls like that away now the referee can fully scrutinise them. Some of the refs seem to just be declining the opportunity to use VAR in these situations which is for the best imo.
  9. They don’t look like they have the midfield to allow their attackers to perform.
  10. Fair play Neymar, he seems to have developed some kind of conscience.
  11. I’d like to think some referees are just refusing to use VAR
  12. That’s a pretty clear push like Thought he’d just put his hands on him at first.
