  1. Jake Livermore is 27? "x is the future" is a phrase to indicate that something is great and everyone needs to get on board (obviously I was being sarcastic). I didn't mean it to suggest I think Jake Livermore is 19 My problem with his selections, mainly in midfield, is that unless he plans on playing Loftus-Cheek as part of a deep midfield 2 we're only going to have Harry Winks potentially offering us anything going forward in that role. I think we should be playing one of Dier or Henderson (probably Dier) with the other in reserve, taking either of Livermore or Cork to the World Cup seems like a massive waste of time. Calling up the likes of Solanke, Cook and Gunn just seems like he's trying to be a clever cunt giving everyone their first taste of international football.
  2. Is he even that good, Gameiro? His record is canny average in Spain.
  3. Why would we sign a 3rd choice striker? Think he's just emphasising how pointless a signing it would be.
  4. Such a lazy link. 2017 Torres as a loan striker would be absolutely pointless.
  5. There's no outrage if yous read like, it's utter bewilderment of his selections. 3 defensive midfielders, 2 of which are completely pointless, and then calling up Lewis Cook for no reason at all. He's 'trying something different' though so it's sound. Jake Livermore is the future.
  6. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/gareth-southgate-reveals-why-he-didn-t-call-up-newcastle-s-jonjo-shelvey-1-8852172 “He plays deeper, plays almost in the quarter-back position for his club. We were needing something a little bit different for these games.” We needed something a little bit different, so I've brought 3 defensive midfielders. The bloke is an absolute plum.
  7. Lewis Cook ahead of Shelvey and Wilshere ffs
  8. It's Leon Balogun, he's just light skinned. He has a German mother and Nigerian father. I thought the same when I saw it so had to dig deeper
  9. Don't think they've gave the pricing too much thought like
  10. How do they plan on addressing language on social media?
  11. Would hope it wasn't his son, like.
  12. Souness is one of the better pundits tbh. I think he went through a period of bitterness towards us but whenever I've seen him recently especially he's been really good.
  13. Is there anything at all to back up Maradona being anywhere near Messi's level like? Stats wise it's not even close, and watching Messi it's hard to imagine anyone better. It just seems like nostalgia and/or a want to elevate history above the the present. I'm fine with it to a degree like, modern players will always have an 'advantage' as training methods and fitness improve etc, so there has to be some perspective there. But it just seems massively disingenuous to watch Messi now and be like "Nah, Maradona was better".
  14. Lascelles said there was no risk of his hernia getting worse so it wasn’t an issue. It just hurt.
  15. The German world cup squad of 2014 would be class though, they'd probably be in with a strong chance of winning any Champions League. Same with the Spain side that dominated before them. I get the point and agree with the jist of it but the top few nations usually have ridiculous squads. Their current squad has Werner, Ozil, Keidra, Sane, Gotze, Kroos, Howedes etc etc from outside of Bayern too.
  16. He's obviously just been bored as fuck and decided to create a website after seeing the advert on youtube like.
  17. Didn't someone say he writes for a national paper? Surely not?
  18. It's pretty obvious at this point that the only legal pleasure DangerNonce can suck out of life is by trying to wind up 'mags' on RTG. It's probably stopping him from going out onto the streets to fulfil his Adam Johnson fantasies, so it's maybe a good thing.
  19. If not Shelvey then at-least someone who isn't another defensive midfielder. Wilshere is fit.
  20. I cannot fathom how boring you must be to call up Jack Cork when you already have 2 defensive midfielders in you squad.
  21. Southgate loves his incredibly average defensive minded midfielders like.
  22. I'd be foaming if I only got one lime like.
  23. wish more people would do this so we can get to the next page sharpish
  24. Who mentioned the Royal Family? Surely by your logic that if we dislike something that we pay taxes toward we should seek employment in another country? The Royal Family is a large part of our history, just like the army There's a big difference between disliking something, and actively hating something and constantly making statements (political or otherwise) about it. Like I said earlier, if he really feels that strongly about it, go and play in another country. why should he have to play in another country because he doesn't wear a poppy? It's not a legal requirement and everyone who lives here is entitled to their own view. Jingoistic poppy fascism is such bollocks. It is. It's proper embarrasing but it's likely that people who've lost family members during service for the British Army were in the crowd and watching on tv when he's openly making his pathetic little gesture turning his back to them, whether you agree with the sentiment of the poppy, the minutes silence, or the national anthem and/or believe it's jingoistic shite openly making a public stand like that is clearly disrespectful. "Fuck the British Army and fuck your deed kids hahaha I'm proper ginger and wild" He's a proper little cock and the backwards as fuck logic the people of Derry are brought up with shouldn't be just accepted because it's their opinion in a free country, the same as the opinion of the jingoistic poppy knackers clearly isn't. what? what has the anthem got to do with the military anyway? so by your logic every single person should be forced to sing and stand for the national anthem because there might happen to be family members of the britsh army in the vicinity. Do me a fucking favour man The anthem was played as they were making a display of respect towards people who have been killed at war. Whether you believe that is over the top or jingoistic or whatever it isn't really the place to be making a public display of disrespect. 'The People of Derry' get a free pass to be antagonistic arseholes because some tragedy happened about 50 year ago. You sure about that? I thought it was just played because it was in America and they play the national anthems for games over there? I'll have a look, if it isn't I'm talking shite I remember him turning his back before a game when at West Brom and the reason (at least reported) was in defiance to British war dead. If I'm talking bollocks and it was just literally him not wanting to be involved in the national anthem with no association arminance day to then I take it all back I don't really have any issue with him not wearing the poppy although I find it slightly weird. I don't know how you find it weird him not wearing the poppy. The poppy commemorates those who died in service to the British Army. Some of those will have been those who killed innocent people who were neighbours of his family members. Simple as that really Because it's perpetuated hatred. You have to move on eventually and the very vast majority of people who have died in the British Army are not arseholes. I get that he'd get loads of stick back home so I can see why he wouldn't do it but Derry's never forgive attitude is the wrong way to go about things no matter which way you look at it imo. I'm not saying they should all be wearing the poppy with pride or out, and I agree that poppy culture has went over the top.
  25. Sorry like, I must have proper bought into the fume at some point because I've thought for a while that he did it on remembrance day/week
