  1. For me it's more the fact that his hard work is used as a massive positive of his, when he does little with it. It's not like Rooney, or even 2012 Jonas where they can cover a lot of distance effectively. Jonas would lose the ball in the opponents final 3rd and was athletic enough to sprint the entire length of the pitch to win it back. Jack Colback bounces between the opposition as the play their passing game uninterrupted. Obviously slightly exaggerating but it often happens with him.
  2. So aye, to answer you question Ian, no they didn't, I'm an idiot
  3. Did someone say he was? Shirley not. Not really. Matic, Boyd & Colback were 3 of the hardest working players in the league and the ground covered figures reflect this. I'm normally a hater of any stat-based patter but this one is certainly not 'meaningless'.
  4. Or even Janmaat for that matter. Or Perez. etc
  5. How is Colback more hardworking than someone like Morgan Schneiderlin or Wayne Rooney?
  6. He's not that bad, he's just not that good either and is also a cunt.
  7. This sort of, I have no problem with him not singing it, I can't stand it myself much, albeit maybe he's doing it in a bit of an attention seeking manner. (why are they playing it at a friendly anyway?) I guess the poppy thing is another kettle of fish. If he'd had any grace he would have worn that white poppy thing that is meant to commemorate all war dead not just British. I sometimes get annoyed at how world war 1 memorials get a bit nationalistic when the lesson of the war should be the dangers of nationalism. In Derry where McClean is from wearing a poppy would be seen as showing support for the British Army who wouldn't be looked on very fondly by people in Derry and particularly Creggan where he grew up to say the least. He actually wrote a decent article around the time of the poppy thing last year explaining his reasons He doesn't even say that himself though, he says this: What a fucking terrible gesture Honestly though, I can understand how some places can be like living in a fish bowl (the NE's terrible for it hence the rise in UKIP up here), and rightly or wrongly I can see why he didn't want to wear the poppy and can sympathise with that, but he's thick as fuck and causing nothing but bother for himself and needlessly causing offence*. *And plenty people will have decent reasons to be offended by it.
  8. Not really, he wasn't trying to draw attention to a cause or make a point, he just didn't want to participate in a celebration of the UK. Fuck it, I don't even care I don't either tbh.
  9. Yeah, and he did so by staging a protest
  10. Just doesn't sing it apparently? I wouldn't sing God Save the Queen like on the account of it being lyrically the most embarrassing National Anthem ever.
  11. You can hold them against him in the same way that he is free to have them. Despite Disco's sarcastic remark, I think there is an element of hypocrisy in what he does. What I meant was, if someone has a moral objection then they have to do something about it. I can't object to that. As far as I'm aware you don't need to swear allegiance to the Queen to work in England, so I'm not sure where the hypocrisy could be. He was refusing to face the English flag. It's obviously not illegal, it's just absolutely pathetic.
  12. I'm with the Facebook mongs here like, he's being a complete freak staging a visible political protest before a fucking friendly He needs to get over himself, the small-time bellend.
  13. He's being total dweeb man, whether or not the national anthem is a bag of shite is irrelevant. He's a pointless little charver.
  14. Like he cannot have any friends in that squad can he? They all must think he's a massive creep.
  15. I like how he was involved in every attack in the first half, the fat, repulsive slop.
  16. They'll just park in the garage over the road.
  17. John Carver had a 15% win rate for half of the season and we finished 9 points lower than 10th place Crystal Palace, managed by Alan Pardew.
  18. I'd be massively surprised if we finish outside of the top 10 like.
  19. Really? I checked the score this morning and, without trepidation, punched the air and shouted "CHAMPIONS 2016."
  20. This isn't the first time some random Dutch bloke has took time out of his day to come out unprovoked and tell us that the players we're signing from the Eredivisie are shite, is it?
  21. He's been absolutely piss poor in games and very good in others, it's not like he's turned up and shown absolutely nothing of value ala Riviere. At the end of the day I don't know why anyone would be strongly against the lad when he's never, by anyone's standards, been given a fair chance. That's the long and short of it for me.
