There's literally no room for common sense, just blindly follow the book when it suits them and make shit up when it doesn't (ie Matic and Terry)
-
It's the same technically but Cisse has a game extra due to his elbow earlier in the season. It really shouldn't carry over in situations like this though as 6 games was already absurd.
-
Ridiculous that Evans will get the same ban despite instigating the whole thing and then flat out refusing his part since. What's the point of the appeal system if that's the case?
-
Best was significantly better than Riviere has shown like. At least he went through a period of actually being useful for us. Unless there's a lot more to Riviere than he's shown it'll stay that way.

Best is the best greatest striker we've had since Shearer.
-
Ah right. Just looking now and apparently it was her dad who reported it after hearing her boasting about it. That does sound better for him.
-
What would he have been charged for then?

TBF I think Steve is just saying that, due to modern society, she'd be offered that chance, not that that's why she did it.

I don't believe Jonny Evans was spitting at Papiss Cissé. It was a reflex. But what the Newcastle striker did next was horrible What a prick, it reads like Facebook click bait ffs
-
Ergh, what a total wanker.

Cisse obviously, who by all account seems like a wonderful bloke.

Pointless? It's a punishment. I suppose what I'm saying is it's a shit form of punishment, in most case anyway. Would you advocate getting rid of suspensions altogether, in favour of (presumably) bigger fines? For the most part aye, I'm not really sure how far I'd go like but it would be a massive reduction from what it is, where we have a ridiculous tier system leading to things like this. I'd keep them for certain things, racism, extreme violence, reckless and dangerous challenges etc. 5 yellow cards and you miss a game type of stuff though definitely needs to go imo. If you're looking to improve the behaviour/conduct of the players on the park then the only punishment that's going to work would be losing points. Your club "can't control it's players"? no problem, lose 3 points. Your captain bites someone? no problem, lose 5 points. Your players have dived 3 times? no problem, lose 2 points. Guarantee that all of the above would stop if the potential punishment hurt the club in the league table. Behaviour and conduct of the players would improve overnight. I think that would be fairer overall to the league if it was implemented properly, aye. As I say my major problem is certain clubs being effected more by the current system than others.
-
Certain clubs are hurt much more than others when a player misses games, and certain things happen in the spur of the moment when things get heated with no thought of the consequence in mind. If it isn't dangerous play/racism etc then it can be handled with a fine or a small ban, at the minute it's out of control though imo. I don't think giving Cisse a 7 match ban is going to prevent anyone from spitting anymore than a 2 match ban would, he's just being banned excessively because they've created some ridiculous tier system where certain things deemed diabolical get the book thrown at them. There's no real sense behind it imo.
-
I disagree and I don't see how it's ridiculous. It highlights the stupidity of their decision making which is the point. You think 7 games for spitting is fine, I reckon it's fucking idiotic.

I obviously realise the actual purpose behind it.

It's a weird one. I'm completely opposed to the idea of banning players tbh, I think it's pointless in most circumstances. Spitting would be up there though, it's definitely a level above most things you see on a football pitch.
-
They had to charge him as he's blatantly hockling on Cisse in the footage. I wouldn;t be suprised if they go with his bullshit that he 'didn't mean to' though. Nice lad, doesn't do that sort of thing, he was meant to tell Cisse to get up and accidentally starting spitting all over him or something.

John Terry racially abused another human being for absolutely no reason and was banned for 4 matches
-
7 matches man, it's complete madness It's 1/5 of a season.

Starting to think Cisse should have just said there was a fly in his mouth or something.
