VAR is just completely pointless. I honestly think they flip a coin to decide what's clear and obvious. It's not a penalty, but then again it's not more or less a 'clear and obvious' a mistake than the goal.

VAR needs to start pulling shit like that up.

In general, unless they're fucked, I cannot see the point of taking off players like Joelinton and Tonali. Longstaff is fine backup, but I struggle to see the tactical advantage of bringing him on.

There's no excuse for losing the initiative against 10 men like, it's 100% our fault. Managers play a box midfield for the sole purpose of gaining a man advantage and controlling the game, and having an extra man does that for you. Whatever, we'll get past it but failing to make use of the extra space we were given is pretty shocking like.

It was the same craic against both teams though. We can control games against sides without the ability to play around our press, but elite quality players will always find it easier to knock it about and nullify our biggest strength. Until we have quality across the board we're not going to be beating the best sides in the world with any regularity.

It was the same issue last year, we can outplay the majority or the division but we seem to shit it when a handful of sides try to have a go. We can beat Liverpool and Man City but we flap it every time.

This applies to so many things within sport like. Look at the Usyk vs Dubois fight last night, Usyk has his belt pulled above his naval all fight and gets dropped with a bodyshot which was called low. It's an outrageous decision, everyone 'knows' it's an outrageous decision (just type "best boxing bodyshots" into Youtube and see countless punches hitting the same area). But then that's not entirely true, because where there is a slight amount of ambiguity (which there was there) people just get let off the hook and we continue to watch it. If you can give even the slightest argument that a decision might not have been awful, or corrupt, the weight of any ire towards it loses all of it's power.
