  1. Miley will probably get minutes ahead of us bringing somebody in, he'll have been training with the squad for like a year now. Gordon or Miggy could drop into midfield if we rejig things a little, we've also got Ritchie to cover for the wings so we have options to move things around.
  2. I'm not even sure what his point is? That we're being sportswashed by not being openly hostile towards a player commiting actions 'the Saudis' are against? He mentions homosexuality being illegal for some reason, would he also be disgusted if we welcomed a gay footballer with open arms?
  3. "Chief Sports Writer" It really is the easiest job in the world.
  4. Reduced wages is fair enough like.
  5. He was absolutely shit all night, but his finest moment was his insistence on standing over Isak for a good minute, gesturing for him to get up and off the pitch as he was clearly injured, recieving medical attention, and needing to be subbed. It was the way he did it too, absolute creep.
  6. Being able to play friendlies would be massive like. Being able to train just seems like such an obvious condition. Toney's ban is/was needlessly inhibitive to his development as a player.
  7. His pass into Gordon (?) in the box was ridiculous like. For all he's been a little sloppy at times he's showed more than enough for us to see what we'll be missing once he got up to full speed.
  8. Coped is an understatement like, they completely shut Trippier out and Gordon was basically our only threat for 70-80 minutes. We had 11 corners which they dealt with easily. We hit the bar twice but both would have been flukey as fuck had they dropped in It's not a criticism of our performance, Dortmund just looked fit and extremely organised while being very dangerous on the break. Trippier usually gets the ball and consitently finds a way to progress us in a dangerous way but he looked completely shackled last night, they covered his passing options ridiculously well all game
  9. Dortmund were great like, probably only Arsenal (after the penalty shout) that has come to SJP in recent memory and comfortably outplayed us, although in a different manner to Dortmund. That said we were still unlucky in our own way, the ref was absolutely shocking too.
  10. Copenhagen look proper well drilled like.
  11. Wouldn't he be getting done for match fixing if he was betting on Milan to lose? Edit: you are right we don't know the details like, but I would hope players caught throwing games would be treat differently to players betting on football (whether it be their own team or not).
  12. Even long drug bans are nonsensical unless it's performanceenhancing, banging cocaine on a weekend is hardly going to improve a players performances Wasn't it weed with Rio anyway? Nobody is sucking buckets to make themselves run faster. Fines and forced rehab would make much more sense imo.
  13. I think a ban is the only real detterent. The issue is there doesn't seem to be any real thought behind it outside of "throw the book at them". A 5 game ban could be sufficient for example? There's no science behind a 10 month ban, just as there wasn't behind Toney's ban, it's just an arbitrary 'long ban' decided by people who frequently show they're completely out of touch. Footballers should be able to bet on football*, there's no reason for them not to, prohibition doesn't work. The extent of modern markets means it's impossible to stop outside of stupidity (such as Sandro's case) so these bans will not effect anyone wanting to fix a market. If you remove prohibition, any player still skirting the rules can reasonably have the book thrown at them without much sympathy. *The FAs/FIFA could easily set up things which allow players to bet on certain markets.
  14. To add, I completely disagree with the way they handle these things (and bans in general) but they've set the marker with Toney's ban.
  15. I would imagine the 10 months is the negotiated ban? They cannot give him less than Toney.
  16. Carlisle is at the other end of the country. Been said but any suggestion outside of staying the night in town, or finding a supporters group running a coach, is fanciful like.
  17. If he's not allowed to train they're potentially ruining his career. It's ridiculous. It made no sense with Toney, but he's English, living in England and established as one of the best strikers in the league. The impact won't be as bad.
  18. Aye not sure what angle of humour he's going for there must be too abstract for me.
  19. To add to this, basically what I'm saying they'll likely start to drop points when their fixture list becomes more congested with mid table sides away from home. They're lightyears ahead of last year still, but it's generally those games where Man City rack up wins and run away with it.
  20. I'm not calling them out. They've only dropped points in 2 games, Arsenal and Brentford away. The point is that they've dropped points in the two toughest fixtures, and that their fixture list otherwise has been padded a bit by three of the easiest away fixtures in the league. They've done great, but at this stage 23 points could be 19 if their opening fixtures were slightly less forgiving.
  21. They literally dropped 2 points to them though.
  22. Excluding Liverpool, who were down to 10 (and eventually 9) and had a goal chalked off due to a technical error, Tottenham have dropped points in their 2 hardest games (Brentford and Arsenal away), getting maximum points from the rest is a great achievement, but it's very likely they start to drop points when they're on the road to Palace, Forrest and Wolves rather than Luton, Burnley & Bournemouth.
