This I don't know how the concept is so hard to understand or why the word "luck" suddenly has a massive stigma attached to it.

What are Hull doing
-
Just need Fulham to equalise and Villa to get a winner

You fucking whaaa?

"memorial pornography"

We should have been in for him when he was available for next to nothing, sort of understandable with the Ranger situation but it always looked pretty clear that he was a player.
-
It's all down to semantics at the end of the day. We were definitely the dictionary definition of lucky that Whelan got himself sent off though Disclaimer, this does not mean I think we would not have turned it around in the 2nd half regardless.
-
He had appalling luck with injuries last year to be fair to him, not to the point where he should be nearly relegating us, but the squad was down to it's bare bones at times.
-
We have bad luck too, we just don't seem to have 20 page debates every time some one mentions it.
-
When we're assessing our performance we can only look at factors that are in our control, the opposition being thick as fuck and getting 2 players sent off needlessly isn't under our control (unless we set out to wind them up). I saw us being outplayed by Stoke until that point, so imo we were fortunate that Whelan is an arsehole. I'm not saying we couldn't have came back in the 2nd half against 11 men. It's down to good fortune that we didn't have too.
-
Just to point out the sheer hypocrisy. From the Southampton game a couple of weeks ago So we can be unlucky not to win, like we apparently were against Southampton, but you get the hump as soon as someone says we were lucky to win against Stoke?
-
"Luck" is just used when something that benefits is out of our control, I don't really see the problem with the term? If it wasn't for a massive slice of "luck" with Stoke going mental we would have had to have came from behind to win against 11 men which we aren't exactly known for. You cannot really assess the game without pointing that out. We were shit until that point. We have bad luck too, and if we bombarded the Stoke goal in the first half like we did the second, hit the bar a couple of times and a clear penalty waved away, everyone would be saying that we were really "unlucky" not to be ahead.

That's it though, some people believe that for us to improve/win something we will need a different manager. Not that they aren't "happy", you've just added a bit of negative spin at the end there for no apparent reason, I would say most are over the moon with us at the minute whilst still having concerns and/or aspiring for it to be better. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Effectively "We're doing well, if you dare mention anything other than lavishing praise you may as well pack the sport in"
-
Horrifically condescending like There's a difference between getting no enjoyment out of something (nobody has even hinted at this at all this season) and identifying ways that you believe you could get more enjoyment out of something, and ultimately in this case what you believe would also lead to more success from the team.
-
Ergh, you really are fucking unbearable like.

If Pardew continues to play the way he is and we continue to pick up points and are consistently in the top 7 (or whatever the bracket is depending on the strength of the league) then fair enough, I cannot really complain, I would prefer we did it in style to give me more enjoyment out of an otherwise very reasonable run of European stability, I would also welcome a change in management to try and achieve that, as well as hopefully improve out points tally over the course of the season which I think would be possible, as well as our performances in the cups. I wouldn't want him sacked ASAP, that period has passed.
-
Well if you say it Brett then it must be true. What else do the people want?
-
I think you're overstating it a bit in some bizarre attempt to compare Alan Pardew to Jose Mourinho.
-
I knew I should have brought in Walcott, I'll do it now.
-
Comparing Pardew to Mourinho man, I wish we'd pack that in. Mourinho's teams may at times (and especially against top opposition) play relatively boring football but they're drilled well defensively and can shut teams out well. You'll rarely see Mourinho allowing the opposition to bombard his goal for 45 minutes relying on the opposition misfiring. That's why he went 9 years unbeaten at home and remains unbeaten at Stamford Bridge.
-
brett misquoting again by the way, i never said pardew makes it easy for other managers ah right sorry. I should be wiser than this.
-
I don't think he makes it "easy" for other managers this season like, atleast no more than other (better) managers have made it for us. He makes it harder for himself though.
