Fucking over the moon.

Ben Arfa has probably matured over the last few years but still I agree, It's a near miracle that Ben Arfa hasn't publicly called Pardew a cunt, it really is.
-
Hopefully you're right. If that happens then it would look like Pardew had got it spot on with HBA again. Sorry but nothing to do with Pardew. Just seen that post I'll bite like. Pardew has treat Ben Arfa fucking terribly, sick of reading this bollocks about him "playing a blinder" with him by dropping him for Obertan, Ryan Taylor and Shola Ameobi. He drops him because he doesn't know how to use him and he's certainly not making him a better player in the process. If we're winning games without him then that's OK, irritating but OK. He's not "getting it spot on" with him though.
-
Remy? He's a deep forward that likes to pick the ball up (mostly wide left areas) and run into attacking space. That's why I said no 9. Hatem needs a real No.9 that plays off the shoulder and is looking to 'get in behind'... Thinking about it Cisse could fit the bill but he lacks a football brain and pace. Chelsea have a similar problem right now because one of their strikers has lost a yard and the other has morphed into a workhorse who does a lot of work outside the box. HBA and Ba looked class together at times tbh when Ba was in the centre (and they obviously linked well when he was wide left too). Ben Arfa clipped some delightful balls over the back line and Ba met most of them (not sure he actually scored from any mind).

If you think Southampton play hoofball then you're fucking mental.

I want Dani Osvaldo's hair and beard combo.

That sounds like a command.

Just brought the fucker in too.

That kid just made Knight like an absolute mug tbf. He's probably a daft cunt himself but fair play on actually getting a shit ex-footballer and professional daft cunt to walk however many miles and stand about like a pleb in the cold for no reason at all.

The Managerial Merry Go Roundâ„¢ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford
Hanshithispantz replied to cp40's topic in Football
I wouldn't say they've been "really poor" in the cups, mind (or the league). They've only been involved in 2 and they got to the quarters of the League Cup, and finished top of their group in the Champions League. -
Again though, Hughton got Birmingham into the play offs in his next role so his title win with us can hardly been seen as a fluke, and Norwich to 11th in the Premier League in his next. He's never under achieved once as a manager, it's a bit harsh automatically assuming he's worse than Pardew.
-
what a fucking pleb.
-
The last thing I'd give Ashley credit for is not binning Pardew and replacing him with a "bargain bucket manager". It's akin to giving Ariel Castro credit for allowing Amanda Berry to keep his bairn.
-
Pardew has done more in the game as he's been in it a lot longer. But Hughton's record so far is a Championship win with Newcastle, a play-off place with Birmingham (4th), and an 11th place finish with Norwich in the Premiership. It's hardly tragic.
-
This is based on very little.
-
Hughton had a bad run of 3 games in 5 (beaten at home to Blackburn and beaten 5-1 & 3-1 respectively away to Bolton and WBA) taking us from 5th to 11th. Sacking him under those circumstances was absolutely ridiculous unless we were to bring in a top replacement.
-
I agree, but when your manager genuinely looks to be holding back the club then there's something to be said for a chairman making an astute change that ultimately is beneficial for the club. There's a lot of absolute mongs out there who'll sack their man and bring in someone laughably worse like. Most chairman in this country are footballing dinosaurs so this happens more often than not.
-
I'm lost here like. We're admiring chairmen who have faith in their manager completing their objectives, even if those objectives are "lower than most people would like." Purely for the fact that they are showing faith in their appointment?
-
Ashley doesn't have faith in his appointments though, he sacked Hughton for literally no reason and failed to back Keegan Pardew is in charge because we have no ambition, it's a simple as that really.

"No bother Mike, it'll be my pleasure."

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United - 21/12/13 @ 15:00 (NO UK TV)
Hanshithispantz replied to Skirge's topic in Football
I don't think we go into matches fearing anyone like, we tend to start fairly well. It's when we take the lead that we suddenly decide to shut up shop. -
At Man Utd he's only played about 30 minutes total all season though. Again with Deulofeu, Barcelona could have loaned him out to somewhere he would be starting every game off the belt but they haven't and he's not. Zaha would get significantly more game time here than he would at Man Utd, which could be enough of an incentive. I don't even know if I want him either tbh, I would just prefer we took advantage of the loan system more than we do currently if we're too cheap to buy the players we need, and everyone else will probably be saying the same a couple of months down the line when Jonas is starting games.
-
Obertan as an impact sub, is something I would prefer to see ahead of Zaha tbh, at least it's our player, maybe increasing his value. But who are you kidding, it's HBA that'll be impacted most. It's been HBA coming off the bench in the last few games not Obertan. Obertan playing probably decreases his value.
-
Whether the loan system needs to be banned or not I don't see the problem with us taking advantage of it whilst we can. As for Sammy, we're blocking his progress by not loaning him out ourselves, the same as a few others. He's not good enough for us at the moment and he probably never will be when he's having a 5-10 minute appearances from the bench every now and then. So bringing in Zaha wouldn't really be a problem, it could actually be beneficial to Sammy's progress if we play it right. Gerard Deulofeu has started 2 games for Everton fwiw, I don't think this "must play" clause really exists.

We spend every day training up a handful of no-hopers so I doubt an extra addition to the squad would be too taxing. Worst case scenario is, as you say, he flops and we send him back to Man Utd, the same worst case scenario possible for every single transfer that has ever been made, only we don't have to keep him after the end of the season. I would prefer we bought a decent winger, obviously. If we don't though I cannot see any reason to be against loaning one unless it was costing stupid money. It's just 1 more player temporarily in the squad
