The difference though is that in the Cup he was (from what I head) very dangerous even before the goal. Today his touch let him down massively a few times and he was clearly frustrated with himself. I still think he should have been given another 10-15 minutes after the break like (we've seen many times the differance half time can make to a players performance).

I thought he looked good, until he got the ball. Some really nice turns; some of the wackiest composure i've ever seen.

We were anything but solid, in fact we could have conceded 3-4 Perch wasn't at fault, but had Modeste and Blackburn not been utter shambolic at just about everything this would have been hailed as our worst performace of the season. EDIT: Again, I realise he was very limited today (Pardew).
