Can't disagree with any of that. Seems odd to say it but Debuchy was arguably better in the air than Janmaat. Debuchy was great in the air for his size. Some games he would go the whole game and not have been beaten in the air once.

There whole club and fanbase is build around how they compare to us, so someone who scores against "the mags" is the be all and end all of their ambition as a club. It's the onlything that counts. And they call us the 1992ers. They were getting sub 20,000 crowds at roker park (not filling it) in their promotion season of 95/96. When they eventually had a couple of decent seasons in the top flight they were getting canny crowds in their new stadium. From 97 onwards their crowds doubled compared to what they were getting a couple of years earlier. Yes they moved to a bigger stadium but that means nowt, they weren't even filling joker park. And they have the cheek to mention 1992ers to us. They're the fucken 1997ers. Never see them mention that mind.
