Why not? Dont think Campbell and Carroll were on huge deals? Considering Carroll had just signed a new 5 year contract reported to be 40k a week , Campbell on 30k a week and Nolan on 50k, i'd be surprised if the new 3 were on more than that combined. So where has the huge increase Pardew talks about come from?

Pardew has also said that the wage bill has come up a lot recently. Based on what and based on from when? What about Carroll, Nolan and Campbell leaving? It couldn't have gone up at all with those 3 leaving and the 3 we have signed this summer.

I'm coming across more and more and the Premier League is becoming more popular. Always lots of plastic, glory supporters for the "big four", but the yankee NUFC fans always seem to know their stuff There is plenty of the plastic fans over here toonarmymia. My cousin being one of them. He used to support Newcastle (got loads of pics of him in Newcastle shirts and he's been to many a match with me) but then when we started doing shite, he started supporting Liverpool and claimed he'd "always supported" them.

So if the £35M covers both a transfer fee (or 2) and a wage for the incoming player(s) where does the TV money and season ticket money go? That's before we even think about losing the likes of Enrique and Tiote in the summer. If/When their sales happen, will the cash raised off them (on top of the £35M off Carroll and the rest of the annual income) go back into buying new players?

The manager who signed those players is gone though. We may have got him in on loan while Hughton was here, but did HBA not sign with us permanently under Pardew? I doubt he'd do that if Hughton was the sole reason for his arrival. Indeed he did. Pardew signed Ben Arfa on a permanent deal for the next 4 and a half years (June 2015).
