Getting back to his wants list, but anyone supposed to be watching the French league should have been after Payet.

By the sounds, the dead in the water team we have emulate is Fulham in 2007-8. West Ham pulled off an impressive escape the previous year, but they had Carlos Tevez. One problem that Rafa (and McClaren before) faces is that some of our most experienced players are hopeless. Look at Steven Taylor turning his back on Norwich's second. Or Colback, the one left standing with experience of playing left back, giving away stupid fouls in the previous games. Senior players making fundamental errors betrays any logic of playing them for experience, something any incoming coach with selection problems will be tempted to default to.

Still good at the heroic goal-line clearance I see. Missed an absolute sitter as well though. He's a good shout for Leicester's worst starter, but the rest are good enough for him not to matter. With their CHs, he could probably get rinsed multiple times without the resulting crosses hurting them. The main thing is for him to not play anyone trying to get in behind onside.

Into miracle territory now, with a defence still incapable of the basics.

30 mins to save the season

Third game in a row from a set piece.

Aye, contrast with the King lording it over the fans in that pub earlier in the season. He's giving it "not my fault honest" in his programme notes and probably avoiding them like the plague at the moment.

Lukaku is exceptional. For Chelsea, he looks like a bigger mistake than De Bruyne. Maybe even Man U with Pogba too.
-
I suppose if Sunderland weren't going to suspend him in spite of being shown huge volume of text messages, the discovery of him having an illegal bestiality video wouldn't bother them either.

Don't Everton try to keep it a little tighter away from home? They've only lost once all season.

Does falling off once in 6 months work out as bad as being a constant alcoholic though? He is an alcoholic, regardless of how often he relapses. It's all of the other mental health issues that he has, which complicates things. It will always be this way for him sadly - there is no permanent fix. He is clearly someone with mental health problems. They usually go deep and can go way way back.

Bit of a D'oh brain fade there, because it was them who equalized at the end of the Palace game, not Palace. They did score first though, so they have still lost a lead in their last three games, against Palace, us, and Southampton with ten men.
-
Just on the subject of Hippo Head and sorry if Giggs, but that's the third game in a row where they've lost a lead in the last seven minutes. That's against the hapless Palace, the hapless nufc, and Southampton who were down to 10 men. For someone the press love to hype, that's very poor game management. Teams that throw points away get relegated.

The early part of the second half was pretty much even stevens with us having one cleared off the line early in. They were on top most of the first half, largely due to them targeting our left side. Leicester scored from a Colback error too, so sorting that side out is priority number one. Number two is working on combinations for opening teams up once we get to their 18 yard line. We got there numerous times but lack of runners, poor delivery and poor decisions cost us in both games. We've finished both games under Rafa stronger than our opponents and have edged the shot count. Under McClaren we averaged 10 for and 16 against. Whether we'll get results is a different matter, but I can see us competing in most of our remaining games. Compared to the Bournemouth home game, that's a big change.

He's clearly not fast, but he's looked more sluggish in the past month or so than he did in that West Ham home game. I dunno if it's tactics, fitness or an injury.
-
I thought him and Townsend were dropping into nice pockets of space first half (i.e. tactics kind of working), but he was consistently being dispossessed unlike Townsend who was taking it on. Much better second half when Sunderland started sitting back. Needs more time with Rafa methinks.
-
Hopeless, and won't be missed in the two games he's out. There's a good chance we won't see him starting again this season.
-
After all that prematch crap on Sky about heart and bravery and Fatso knowing the territory, his team tried to sit on a one-goal lead and pissed away two points against a team as hapless as ours. They might as well have waved a white flag.
-
Pleased he took his shirt off because I can now dismiss the theory that he's slow because he's carrying a bit of weight. If he is, it's not on his middle. Unfortunately it doesn't mean we can expect him to get any faster.

FT 1-1. Huge feck up from Allardyce. We were there for the taking and they let us back in. Pardew couldn't have done better. It ended positively and give Rafa another week with them. On this evidence, you'd think both are going down.

Nowt wrong with that shoulder charge.

Five minutes to go. Howay the lads
