  1. In fairness to him, I think its more than any of our lads get. Folk in Germany reckon Wirtz is on 400k. Swiss Ramble reckons 355k.
  2. VVD running the wrong way and crisp packet hand from the keeper on the Chelsea goal.
  3. Jimmy Hill smoking a pipe back in the studio. Probably a booking for Caicedo there but gets away with it.
  4. Chelsea crowd with a decent rendition of the Gerrard song remix.
  5. They've dropped Wirtz, so he might benefit from them being more direct. Note that this after several days of "Wirtz has created the most chances" articles written to placate the eScousers.
  6. Yes, although this one was deflected before he parried it. Deflections on both goals so far. I can't remember us having one this season. Liverpool's first at SJP was.
  7. Big miss from Kudus. Could have taken a touch.
  8. Remember the Chris Wood hat-trick. I fear former player curse could overpower anything Ange does. I'd bite your hand off for a win with no injuries and no red cards. We need to start getting points on the board.
  9. I fully expect more spawniness for Slot, a good chunk of which has already happened with the decimation to the Chelsea lineup. Some of this fate may be deserved for Chelsea getting the devil's lucre for the CWC, but the beneficiaries of such payback do not deserve to be Liverpool. I'll hate watch the match all the same.

    Yoane Wissa

Yes, based on those two, it's the low-risk, league-proven signings that are the riskiest. Just go and get someone with four goals in four games in the Icelandic third division.
  11. Finally Nick gets a penna for someone holding him. Take a note Premier League!
  12. A couple of seasons back, it would happen once every game, but almost always only once.
  13. Most assists in PL history as a defender. Second is err, Andy Robertson. Let's just say it was nice timing to jump ship if your name is Jurgen Klopp.
  14. Just a thought but had we signed Wissa or someone else a bit earlier, we start Gordon on the left against Liverpool and Szobo at RB gets completely roasted like he did against that pacey lad last night. I still think we'll have a good season, but various setbacks we've had have denied us momentum. I hope we do not see them echoing onward and leading to further issues, like they did in the previous CL season when it was injury after injury.
  15. In the five minutes or so between the first subs that marked the switch to five at the back and the Tino injury, the signs were not good about us holding onto the ball. Maybe if the injury had happened a few minutes later, a decision to switch back to a four with Miley coming on to help keep the ball could have been taken. In the game as a whole, many lads had off days (possibly formation/tactics driven) but it looked we'd get away with it. If the Alex Ferguson quote about needing eight out of eleven to play well to win a game is true, we were nowhere near that. But we were ahead so its a waste to have lost the game. On paper, our three mids vs. Rice, Zubi and Eze should have achieved more. They should have enough to not be dominated by two and an AM. Losing two goals to corners in spite of knowing it is their threat is also extremely vexing.
  16. I'll agree with that. Corners are their main threat, so it was still poor. The Merino one was a great header, like our own, so it gets a pass. The last one though was too easy and was weakly defended.
  17. Being held in the replay. I suppose he could throw himself to the ground but that didn't work last week.
  18. Just saying but our goal was the third corner where we'd won a header. Shades of the Carabao final of a goal foretold. Very easy to not notice with the pundits rimming the cartel club, of course
