  1. Who's in the two? If its Gordon and Murphy, the midfield is the three plus Tino? Would that be Tino right and Big Joe left?
  2. Thanks. I don't know how to embed the tweets. Our three in midfield vs. Rice/Zubi/Eze. I think that favours us and we can bully them. They're playing Trossard LW. Seems quite attacking for Arteta. I'd drop Trossard, play Eze LW and beef up midfield with Merino (who's on the bench).
  3. Our team https://x.com/NUFC/status/1972304035085443539 Their team https://x.com/Arsenal/status/1972304116694298784
  4. Murph vs. Eze? Not against it, but he may need help. Taken in isolation yes. The background is we have 6 points off five games going into this, which isn't great, but no need for panic stations regardless of what happens today. I would recommend switching off if any media prick tries to lump us in with under-pressure PL clubs, e.g. Man U. We just need a couple of things to click. Wissa might do it on his own.
  5. Any eScousers out there disappointed in Isak can at least go on the Guardian and read a hit piece by one of their resident mackems about how selling Isak has left NUFC as a "diminished entity". So LFC might not have hit the bullseye by paying a British record fee for someone who's not hit the ground running, he's not even fit, but you can still laff at them Geordies who are in shit creek because some purple prose in the Guardian says so.
  6. Thanks, I didn't know. Unless kicking Isak, I wouldn't want Fab playing. Sweden are at home so extra pressure on them.
  7. Great to see him using important competitive games at Liverpool to get some fitness back after going on strike. I'm sure the Liverpool fans will still come up with a reason why the strike was a good idea. International break soon, and Sweden's next game is a vital one against our own Fab (break his legs!) and Switzerland. Pressure's on Sweden and their lovely manager to get some points on the board. He mightn't be as receptive this time to entreaties from Liverpool to go delicate on the lad and not tire him out. I didn't want to tempt fate and mention it during yesterday's game, but the sad bastard I am meant I looked up how many goals Isak scored after the 60th minute. Last season, aside from the Brighton pen, there was only one, Spurs away near the start of the season. In his entire career with us, a quick look suggests only 13 goals were after 60 mins, including sub appearances. Seven of them were penalties.
  8. Palace MoM was Gravenberch, for two assists. He's also the greatest midfielder to ever kick a ball, you know.
  9. I was at that game and first half was hilarious. Like a pantomime. Murph scoring from a crazier angle than Tonali, Eze hitting a crazy runup penenka pen straight at Pope who didn't move, and then us getting three more, including a Guehi own goal. 4-0 at half time. Second half was a nonevent but Isak finally got one after multiple misses.
  10. Re: Isak, the only decent crosses Liverpool have hit have been corners. The ones from open play have ended up in touch.
  11. He's great but missing all three of em is poor finishing. Praying it doesn't cost them.
  12. Three touches in first 25 minutes
  13. Had Palace placed and not blasted two shots, it would be 3-0.
  14. Dean Henderson showing why goalkeeping powerhouse Man U let him go, not.
  15. There's a fair chance Onana saves that.
  16. They've not won at SJP since 2021. We beat them in 2022 even before Isak arrived. I see no need to go five at the back at home. Isak had their number, but Gordon also has three goals and an assist in six games plus a short sub appearance against them. We could do with a big performance from him. Wissa aside, we should be close to full strength. Big one for us is to not concede from a set piece. It's half their threat. Liverpool Arsenal was a bore draw with a freak free kick. There's a good chance Arsenal play conservatively in this game too. Arsenal did it despite us with 10 men, Palace, and Brentford all scoring twice against Liverpool.

I know its fourth-tier opposition, as it happens top of that league fourth-tier opposition, but man 16 out of 17 passes!! The only lads who do that are center halves passing it to each other across the back line with no-one near them. He's doing it on the edge of their box! The guy is a unicorn. 20 touches in 23 minutes is also what we want to see. That's more than Callum Wilson in 90 minutes.
  18. What an enjoyable watch! Loads of great interplay from us, first half when Bradford got their tactics wrong, but also late in the game when big Wolte, the link man, was unleashed and we did the same in tighter spaces closer to their goal. He looks like what Wirtz was hyped to be. Great work from big Joe and mad Willy, but Bruno man, I just love him. What a player!
  19. We beat all of the top four on matchday (Forest, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool) to win it last time. I suspect that's the only time a team has done it.
  20. The other tie lost was Chelsea wasn't it where we were under the kosh but winning until a Trippier last-minute failed clearance gave it to Mudryk. We then lost the tie on penalties. Chelsea went on to essentially outplay Liverpool in an all-time borefest of a final, but lost to a VVD header at the end of extra time.
