The Isak situation has an inevitability about it for me, eventually champions league clubs will come in for him. As others have said if we get a massive sum for him and re invest then so be it. I don’t want him to go but that’s the reality of it I think. Hopefully European qualifying can stave that off.

Thoroughly depressing

Building the academy, being shrewd in the transfer market like Brighton and moving to a new stadium is probably the only way we can reach our potential and ambition.

The cartel have won for the time being, our hands are completely tied. We’ll be occasionally 4th down to 8th for the time being I think with a tilt at cups. It’s great to actually have ambition again but I’ve downgraded expectations completely with the current premier league set up.

I agree to a point and there is a stale feeling creeping in. Have to say however I don’t really see us becoming a top four team with current PSR handcuffs.

If this inconsistency continues whether it’s a combination of players letting him down and being unable to break teams down then we’ll probably finish outside Europe and he’ll be gone. I’m definitely not in the Howe out camp at all but there are some concerning signs and part of me does start to think has he reached his peak and it’s starting to become a bit stale? There’s obviously plenty factors involved too such as PSR. January is going to be interesting to see what they do, could make or break the season.

I didn’t have any concerns with him starting but was shocked how bad he was, I mean he played pretty well against Chelsea in the cup. Hes shot himself in the foot there tho, disastrous performance.

He needs to find a way to get Tonali in the team and performing. We can’t have an Italian international who cost 55m sat in the bench what with our financial constraints. Barnes is an issue too, similarly we can’t really afford to have a 40m player on the bench but then that’s starting to look like a short sighted signing if you’ve already signed Gordon because so far he hasn’t shown he’s able to get both playing well at the same time. Howe wiht his current players and tactics can’t break down a defensive set up. Teams know this, they’ve figured it out and unless he sorts it out and that facilitates some more consistency it’ll be his eventual undoing and he’ll get moved on.

It’s a concern that he still doesn’t seem to know where to play Tonali.

His lack of finishing is still a concern for me.

Agreed mate which I’ve said in other posts. He can’t currently find a way to open teams up and shows no signs of having a clue what to do. His subs today were a concern too. I wouldn’t be that surprised if this is his last season with us particularly if we dont get Europe.

I’ve come to the conclusion and an acceptance that with the current PSR set up and APR rule changes that there’s no way we can aim to do what I thought we’d do when the takeover first happened. I do think we’ll sell one of our big players in the summer. I actually think we could replace Bruno to an extent whereas Isak would be a nightmare to replace. Gordon isn’t going anywhere for a while I don’t think.

Yeah it was strange wasn’t it, he didn’t look comfortable on the ball or anything and almost gave the ball away early on. When he’s played before he’s looked a physical presence at least and solid. Was kind of floating about without doing anything.

Hes a on fair chunk by all accounts. I don’t think he should be completely written off even after that though. Agreed it was very concerning however.

His subs at times are a real concern and so far he clearly has no idea how to beat teams playing a certain way at home. Teams that play a low block (and West Ham weren’t exactly even doing that tonight) and we just have no answer to it at the moment. We are terrible at creating and converting chances.

I think there are some valid concerns with Howe but equally his players let him down tonight with piss poor passing, awful final balls and woeful finishing. Simply not good enough by too many. For example Gordon has to bury that chance ffs

He’ll be here this season but I have a feeling he’ll get the chop if we don’t get Europe.
