Spot on. He definitely seems happy here and it winds me up that loads of the journos make the Henry comparison and just assume he’ll end up at Arsenal. I do think there’s a chance he goes to someone next summer if we’re not in the champions league because he’ll be 25 and he might be tempted away for that ambition. But as you say it’ll be for a load of cash which will then be reinvested. As I’ve said before he might fire us into the champions league anyway or if we’re in the Europa league and looking strong for next season with Botman back he might stay as well.

There’s not a cat in hells chance he goes anywhere in January. Next summer if we aren’t in the champions league and someone like Arsenal comes sniffing and in the event Isak dies go then it’ll be north of 120m no less. Not even sure Arsenal can afford that to be honest and they’re in fantasy land if they think they can get him for under 100m let alone 100m.

I feel like where we’re sitting in the league and building some momentum with real balance to the way we’re set up at the moment with Tonali a key attacking addition at RW could make all the difference in a push for Europe.

Yeah totally, all over the pitch we give them nightmares. Gordon and Isak but even Murphy will cause them all sorts of problems and then they have to pick up Bruno and the marauding Joelinton while Tonali runs the show. It should be comfortable.

The thing that worries me is everything points to us dominating but we’ve fluffed our chances in games like this so many times before. Tonali is the one for me that really helps us in this situation, he’ll run the midfield.

I think his experience will be vital on what looks like a renewed assault on top four and Europe second half of the season. He’ll go in the summer I’d imagine.

Yeah the key for me is if we can take it back to St James level or 0-1 then I think we’ll do them. No Saka is a massive plus for us but Schar being out is a massive concern in the first leg.

I wonder if Longstaff might go in January now that we have Miley? It would also make sense PSR wise. I don’t see Trippier going next month as we need his experience for the league. I think Barnes will probably go in the summer to get more football. A new RW and R CB next month like the Lens player would be the dream but I’d take a RW as a priority.

He’s like a weird Ashley version but the difference being he can’t keep his mouth shut or stay out of the limelight.

The other bonus with Tonali is that he allows Joelinton just to crack on and do his thing too, he’s kind of released both Bruno and Joelinton to do what they do best.

It’s a great chance for us but we just never play well at Old Trafford therefore I’ll always be sceptical. With Ugarte and Fernandes out we should batter their midfield however.

Bloke is ridiculously good and a full on leader and he’s already taken the team up a notch. He gives the side so much more control, balance and the defence must feel so good with him in front of them. But the thing is he initiates attacks too, absolutely class. Bruno is benefitting from the change too👍

Yeah I agree with that. I think they’ll go relatively big in Jan (say RW) only if they can get a player who they’re pretty sure will really add something to the first team both in time but also add something different now and who creates greater depth. Or if someone suddenly became available such as the Gordon situation. This would also depend on outgoings in Jan.

I get all that but surely the 3rd option is you scout someone with immense talent and potential and roll the dice a bit otherwise we’ll never sign anybody 🤷‍♂️ We are going to have to start doing things differently and this is surely exactly the situation where Mitchel earns his crust?
