  1. Anyone get the impression they’re saving him for January so they can flog him 😂

Seems like they’ll probably keep him to help stay up and sell him in the summer but they’ll end up losing a fair chunk of cash from the sale alone (but gain from staying up). Seems a bit odd that Parish didn’t take what we were offering in the summer if that amount was true. I do wonder if we got a sniff that they might sell we might still go back in for him given he’s address that right side CB position. I still think RW is more of a concern.
  3. Yeah it’s a complete farce. I’m definitely of the opinion that we shouldn’t just sign anybody in January. However, I think it’s really important we bolster the squad to push on in what could be a really important season in terms of where our players go from here re Europe etc.
  4. I just hope the fans (and players) don’t turn up expecting to win. We should win but it’s never ever a given.
  5. ‘Conspiracy’ was a tongue in cheek comment. Irrespective of tabloid noise I’m merely stating that I think there’s a significant chance he might go if we don’t get Europe or even champions league and Arsenal will be one of the clubs interested. Anybody who says it’s definitely not going to happen is kidding themselves. As I said in the previous comment lots can happen between now and then and we could get champions league which would kill any chance of him going.
  6. 😂 It’s hardly a conspiracy is it. Let’s be honest there’ll obviously be some truth in it and like Arsenal there’ll be a few teams with an eye on him, doesn’t mean they’ll get him. Money in football often talks though.
  7. Arsenal will know they’re not going to be able to get him on the cheap. Realistically if they’re going to actually win the league they need a striker and they’re going to have to pay big for one. Whether they can Isak is another thing because there’s a lot that can happen between now and the end of the season such as us getting champions league which would kill off any chance of him going. Arsenal will definitely target a striker next summer though.
  8. Yes no Europe and he’ll be gone for 100-120m imo. I still think some teams might come sniffing if we’re in Europe but not in the champions league.
  9. Still think there’s a fair chance he goes in Jan. Joelinton’s emergence in the forward line, Gordon on the right, Murphy as an option and the fact we’ll probably sign a RW in Jan means he’s not going to get much playing time.

I don’t think the club have afford to sign nobody this January. If we suffer a few key injuries and the squad suffers as a result there’ll be hell on and it could cost us Europe.

Spot on, if anything just to wind Parish up too. I think it’s unlikely he comes to us now but we clearly like what he has skills wise at the right price. I think we’ll aim for a RW in Jan, anything else a bonus. I guess if a CB comes available maybe that too but cost wise seems unlikely as I think they’ll spend a fair chunk on the forward line. Botman and Lascelles coming back lessens the urgency at CB too as someone above has already mentioned.
  12. If we’re not in Europe or the champions league next season then I think he’ll probably go next summer and we’ll re-invest the money. That said I think we might have a really strong second half of the season which quieten plenty of transfer talk.
  13. What a gutter for him if true but recovery is usually relatively straightforward. Be back by Jan.
  14. Looks like he’s let whatever guard he has down after indulging and then been massively stitched up. Probably woke up in a cold sweat realising what was probably about to unfold. He's only human but it’s a colossal fuck up.
  15. Is Wilson available for this? 😂 Confident of a home win for this, they look at 6a and 7s.
  16. Yeah exactly. Are we going to slip back into our away form rut or are we going to turn in a proper away performance.
  17. I would imagine there was a high degree of lacking trust/confidence in the knee. Ironically there is often a greater risk in rupturing the opposite knee after surgery and rehab so he should be fine once he’s back.
  18. I can’t directly comment on either Krafths or Tino’s surgery (well or any of them for that matter lol). An ACL usually is either ruptured and needs surgery or its not. Some athletes in the NFL have played with a ruptured ACL for a full season without issue, it’s rare though. Clearly there was some discussion over Botman as to whether it was to the extent it needed surgery. I think one of the consultants in Italy that a lot of them go to uses a synthetic graft rather than hamstring which speeds up rehab time (as a normal graft requires time to profilerate and strengthen). I wouldn’t be concerned about a Jan return at all. He’ll be under constant daily monitoring, his leg strength outcome measures and plyometric leg strength will be assessed endlessly and then they’ll phase hims back into training drills.
  19. January would be 10 months post op which in an elite setting is ample time given they have specific rehab daily. I get my Joe Public ACLs back running by 12 weeks, kicking a ball with basic drills 6 months, non contact drills from 9 months, full contact 12 months.
  20. Agreed the atmosphere in the ground was amazing, fans willing the team on to survive
  21. Hes gone at the end of the season and there are more pressing concerns in the squad e.g RCB and RW particularly given our tight financial situation.
  22. Move him on in Jan and get him off the wage bill to help bring a new winger in. We have Tino and Krafth as back up.
