There isn't really a need for hatred or rude comments to be made to him or about him, but his performances last season were below average. That is ok to say. They are pro footballers, earning a fairly sizeable wedge each week which a lot of normal folk would have to work a lifetime or at least years for. Criticism is and in fairness, should be, part and parcel of the game. A lot of the basics were just not there with him last year, possession easily lost, not clinical when in advanced areas, falling over a lot of the time. We could have a team full of lovely guys, and play in the Championship, or we can have a team full of talent to progress us in future years. I certainly don't think the club just wave a white flag to attitude and what they are like as a person, so I don't envisage someone being an absolute tool but an amazing player, it's pretty clear the club look at what the person is like and don't just base signings on footballing ability alone.

I mean there are some good shouts in this thread so far, I'd probably have to agree with Luuk De Jong, his efforts on goal were like passbacks, so tame. But I think for me, there would have to be a winner, and that is pretty much any game Emmanuel Rivière took part in.

I definitely have never seen the guy play but from the YouTube video I have just watched, SIGN HIM UP! Joking aside, what struck me is that he is obviously raw and will need effective coaching, however his confidence is striking - the fact the video showed him a couple of times bringing the ball down against City and not being afraid to be direct and get at Ake & Akanji, really liked that, and he knows where the net is too from his goals.

Only really just caught up with the interview, the main take out from me is the sentence featuring "Working out boundaries", I imagine there is or could be something which is different to his optimal, but 'this is me telling you about it publicly'. Don't necessarily think it is a negative call out, just probably part and parcel of people departing and new people arriving. They may potentially be puffing out their feathers and trying to flex their muscle a bit, and Howe is trying to assert a bit of dominance.

Thought Walker showed this tournament that his better international days are behind him, his final ball/end product was very average all tournament. I would have loved to have seen Gordon get at Carvahal in that second half, was exactly what we needed when we brought Watkins on too. Kane's role will be interesting going forward, he has had a very, very poor tournament and nothing like his former self, despite how good he has been for Bayern.
