"We're always looking" (re signings)
"We always want to improve upon what we have" (when asked about defence)
People on here seem to expect him to come out and go, "Yeah we've got bids in for X Y and Z", whilst labelling our current defence as dreadful. Of course he's going to say he's happy with the players application and the players we've bought. He's not going to slag anyone off or give too much away is he?
He couldn't have put it in a more general way Nobody is saying he should slag off specific defenders. The way he avoided the question and kept listing up our players, talking them up. No way is he expecting a new defender in.
Yeah, I'm sure it does. What I mean is that it shouldn't really be held against him.
It's not a huge deal per se, but don't know why it shouldn't. By all means, celebrate goals. It's just how he did it. Especially as a self-proclaimed Newcastle fan.
It has no bearing on how poor he is. That goes without saying. Just adds another dimension to how he is perceived, on top of being a bang average overrated player.
Which is fair.
Just don't hope him being young turns into an "excuse". Have no problem with him assessing them in training of course. I would start Mitrovic though.
Steve McClaren has told The Daily Mail that he is undecided about starting Aleksandar Mitrovic against Southampton
“He’s only 20. He’s still got a lot of potential to come. I’ll see how he trains this week before deciding if he starts.”
Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Not far from it going off this training session. Which might or may not mean anything. Wijnaldum in the no. 10 role, and Anita in for de Jong.
Shit if true.
