This f***ing sentence, man. Is this what some of us have actually become? That's what we mainly did when we finished 5th, just made ourselves a hard team to beat. We are showing signs of that form again. If we come out agaisnt Norwich and play soem nice football, get the 3 points, we will be in a strong position. I think we are improving all the time.

Well tell Jose and AVB to come back with better tactics next time then

No point watching the games. Let's just skip them and look at the result afterwards. Can't discuss performances. I honestly couldn't fault them. They've done us proud. Hardly a poor individual performance in both games. What's your assessment of the 2nd half today? Similar to Cardiff second half. Home side pushed on for an equaliser as you'd expect, we handled everything they threw at us until you just knew we had dealt with everything they had to offer and we would be taking 3 points back home. Obviously Spurs carved out a couple more chances than Cardiff due their quality but we were resilient and showed we were willing to fight them all the way and won't fold. Superb attitude and spirit to refuse to be beaten. It's funny how we always pose no attacking threat second half when we're leading at half time, you reckon? Or are you really not joining the dots? Well i don't want to say we should be going looking for a second goal when our defence has proven it can withstand the pressure. We did it often in the season we finished 5th, score and make it difficult for opposition to break down. If it was 0-0 half time, we may have come out and looked for the winner like against Chelsea but we had the lead and it was up to Spurs to take that off us and they failed. Credit to the players for their attitudes and credit to Pardew for having faith in his tactics.

I know, I can't believe that that is what is definitely happening. Moaning about first halfs and second halfs because we never really threatened for periods of games against two top sides. People just expect us to control games for 90 minutes agisnt top sides without having any pressure to withstand? We were excellent today and last week, no two ways about it.
-
Can't believe people are still moaning when we've got back to back wins against Chelsea/Spurs.
-
Disgusting commentary, like.
-
‘Townsend not all that’....then people will say Soldado is poor then Eriksen is overrated then suddenly Spurs aren't very good and Newcastle were poor second half, slowly but surely the win is tainted.

Krul deserves a fucking good blow job tonight, like. Outstanding performance, up with the best i've seen from a GK (if you forget about his kicking).

Aye alreet, Bert. I wonder who else is on this "ever growing list of clubs who we make look average/poor." Liverpool Man City Cardiff Sunderland I began drafting a reply to that post yesterday but I've decided just to give up with him. All them stated clubs just happened to not really turn up against us and played poor. 5 in a row, nothing to do with us being an effective team, more lucky the opposition weren't at their best? Hope you got your draft ready to reel out, Venky, because i'm adding Spurs to my list of clubs we made look average. Surely it's not a coincidence these clubs just aren't turning up against us and we should be looking to praise our own efforts for making all these clubs look like they've been poor

Pardew and this group of players need some loving like. Once again we just give absolutley everything. So pleasing to see everyone fighting for the cause, something we lacked last season. We seem so much fitter this season. That last 5 minutes wasn't even dangerous, we had nullified everything they had.
-
Well Shola is doing what you expect him to do, he's been turd but he's in the side to give us that outlet and it works even if he hasn't been very good. He's playing his part certainly but would be nice if we had someone of a better standard out there who could do that job. You can see why he's being picked by Pards though.

We really are improving as a side, like. I know i've been banging on about it a lot but every match i think we'll not better that and we do. Most impressive thing is our work rate for me, always doubling/trebling up on key danger men, not giving them a moments peace. Shola has been turd like, give him another 10 minutes then get Cisse on.
-
Sure someone said on here Remy was in decline after the mackem gane in which he had his first poor match
-
It's the same gameplan as last week, sit back and hit them on the break. Yep, but we are looking more adventurous in our breakaways this week than we were last week in the first half. Working a treat so far.
-
He did say in his interview we might surprise AVB and their fans with our gameplan, he wasn't lying. Excellent so far.
-
Fantastic stuff this like. We work so hard for each other, great work ethic amongst them.

I moaned at this against City and they put in a canny performance, i had half a moan at the line up before Chelsea and they won. Can see why he's done it, options are limited, Cisse out of form, Ben Arfa struggled up top, Shola has give us something to aim at. Agree with the person a couple of posts up about the 4-4-2, Norwich played it and hardly seen the ball, hope we can do better than that. Feel sorry for Anita like, he should be starting. Dont' think Ben Arfa/Cisse/Colo can have too many complaints as they have either not took their chance or others deserve to be playing ahead of them. Shola f***ing Ameobi is starting instead of Hatem Ben Arfa, there's no excuse for that man. I've said it many times, i'd have Ben Arfa playing every single minute of every single match but he's clearly a frustrating player for a football manager. We've generally played well when he hasn't been playing though. Tell that to Aston Villa and Fulham mate I don't want to start looking like i'm supporting Hatem being on the bench, i hate it as well but there's no point making a big fuss about it when we haven't even kicked off yet. Wait till after the game and judge the decision. I moaned prior to Chelsea about it, i certainly wasn't moaning afterwards that i hadn't seen HBA make an appearance.

Like f*** will we start the same tactics agaisnt Norwich if we get a result today, have a word with yourself, man. Norwich have come off the back of a good win last week and we are equals so they are a fret. I'm not saying it's an easy game. I'm just saying the tactics against Norwich won't be the same as today if we get a result. Not even a chance of it. We are looking to keep the game tight until latter stages then look to bring on match winners but the majority of teams have done this at WHL this season, just most have narrowly missed out, bar West Ham who did pull it off to good effect. Frustrate Spurs as much as they can and counter well when possible.

Like f*** will we start the same tactics agaisnt Norwich if we get a result today, have a word with yourself, man. The last two seasons have seen 1-0 home wins over Norwich, scored early then defended like f***. He's not going to suddenly go after them. Hardly set up two backs of four like today will be and let Norwich have all the ball. We will take control of the game from the off going in search of a goal against Norwich, we won't be doing that today.
