  1. As predicted, tight scrappy game but 3 points. Another good 45 followed by a poor 45, worrying once again but 3 points once again makes everyone happy. Fancy a more entertaining game against WB but not as confident of the three points but things are looking very exciting now we are chasing 4 wins in a row.
  2. Pardew knew the situation at the start of the season, so did all we. There wasn't many complaints at start of the season when we knew he had pretty much 1 more year left here. So what if quotes have come out in Argentina reiterating his desire to play for SL. As long as he is still here, he will continue to give 110 percent in his performances regardless if he would like a move back home.
  3. Nothing we didn't already know, no need to go overboard on it. We pretty much knew we had him for another season and I'm thankful just for that.
  4. I said 'rarely' Obviously he's done it and will do it but it's not like Ronaldo where like you say how direct it is, he picks it up in that space and he's thinking about shooting, not the same with Messi and Barca.
  5. Well, not really better, it's still a load of horse cack what you're saying. Take someone’s goals away from them and they'll have less impact, hardly rocket science that. However say they did both stop scoring, they both would still be highly effective in their teams and still outstanding players because their attributes aren't just tailor made to just score goals, they have many other aspects to their game. I think it's a fair comment to say that he does far less than Messi does. Messi scores more (except beginning of this season but I've already posted that they're actually not even far off) and Messi contributes more to general play in terms of creating chances, holding on to the ball. Just for the sake of it, what does Ronaldo do that he's great at except the obvious ones? Does he press high up the pitch constantly? Does he provide cover to Marcelo/Coentrao? Does he win ball back? Does he create a lot of chances out of nothing for his teammates? I'm asking because so many seem to watch him week in week out. Well do i pretty much watch the Sky games over La Liga the majority of weeks and Ronaldo simply doesn't just score. Pressing depends on teams style of play, so yes and no. Yes he doesn't track back and defend but neither does Messi, they both use their energy very well and play in bursts. Both are very capable of losing the ball but then winning it back again. Both create chances out of nowhere. I'm not here to argue who is better of the two, imo Messi on top form is a clear winner and for me the greatest but i'm not accepting take Ronaldo's goals away and suddenly his impact on games diminishes, he's more than capable of creating things out of nowhere for team mates. Difference is Ronaldo is a lot more selfish than Messi when it comes to his team mates imo. Both of their respective clubs play a different style of football which enhances Messi’s credentials of a team player because Barca are based on so much possession play. You rarely see Messi pick it up, beat a man then strike from 25 yards, that’s not how Barca work. So a 10 pass move ending with a neat one-two resulting in messi through on goal and scoring looks a lot better than Ronaldo skipping past a man to get his half a yard then firing into the top corner from 25 yards. They both have their freedom of the team but use it in different ways. To think with Ronaldo’s attributes and skill set that if he couldn’t score, his impact would decrease dramatically, is still baffling however.

  7. this sums up why messi has beat ronaldo so often for the awards tbh, ronaldo is a goal machine but you get the feeling if the goals dry up he's done for, with messi you know if he isn't scoring goals he's got the ability to dictate games at the very highest level I would say a lot of people under-rate Christiano. And the quoted is BS based on mystique. During his reign as the best in the world, Messi has been the difference, the goal machine. Dictating games while Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta have been playing? Nah. People say things like that based on little evidence that they've seen from their own eyes. can you f***ing read? To be fair, you said 'if the (Ronaldo) goals dry up he's done for' which is quite absurd to think Ronaldo only scores and doesn't do anything else.
  8. Confident of a win here but not a good performance. Think we will scrape ourselves the win by the odd goal and that will do me. Think West Brom will be a better game and a better performance but not as confident on the 3 points.
  9. Stick by him through thick and thin, that's the spirit Ron.
  10. He'll be leading the pack to kill Taylor like, no doubt!
  11. Yeah, think it ended in October. I've got Ronaldo at 5's, 11/4 best priced now but agree with you on Ribery getting the votes based on his teams achievements. Like you, just felt odds were too long on Ronaldo.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Even though Ben Arfa got the blame for the 3rd for not tracking hard enough, there was no excuse for the Hull player to have a 10 yard radius of space on the edge of the box. Our whole midfield went missing. Was just a shocking performance all around, players and manager combined. You've still got to fancy still that we will actually come up with a gameplan to break Norwich down and execute it giving the form our players are in. Confidence must be very high at the moment, and that's a huge factor for us. Ben Arfa man of the match performance, 2-0 is my prediction.

    Loïc Remy

Do you think? Yes, i do We don't disregard loans simply because there is no value. That was just another viable excuse to why we aren't signing loans like Lakaku. Give us a Danny Simpson though and we will take you up on your loan offer

No value in them doesn't mean to say they won't be done and we've broke some sort of ruling with Remy. We've done them in the past under Ashley and i'm sure we'll continue to do so if it is felt the squad can be improved from them and there is a chance of a good deal in place.

Do you just make this sort of stuff up? We had one size, ireland, Van Aanholt on loan off the top of my head, probably a couple more. Not like he's broken his ruling just for Remy. Just because we haven't bagged likes of Lakaku amonst a couple of other obvious loans which we could have had, don't mean to say he won't loan

That's what you here from Arsenal fans that moan when they are finishing 4th, yet we build Arsenal up to be this extremely well run club? No, it's what you're hearing from me, a Newcastle fan. A team that just finished 2 places above relegation, not 4th. Well they say exactly the same and have criticised their manager/board for years because of it until Ozil arrived that is. Then they brought up old news at the weekend when RVP scored past them because they sold him to their biggest rivals and refused to match his wages and give him assurances they would spend money to win trophies. They say "exactly the same" do they? Show me. Just follow Piers Morgan on twitter and keep scrolling down and reading, he'll give you the idea of how they think. They have Ozil but it still doesn't stop them moaning then have Podolski/Giroud instead of Robin Van Persie. You couldn't have picked a worse person to represent a member of the human race, let alone an Arsenal fan. Don't be that stupid, Brett. You may as well say that Jimmy Nail represents all Newcastle fans. We're tarnished with the brush by the media all of the time, don't do the same thing to other sets of fans when you already know the amount of s*** that's talked about us. Or the 60,000 after the Villa game chanting 'Spend some f***ing money', that enough weight for how fed up they were? ....and they did and now they're a much better team that's top of the league. Exactly what is your point? Sounds a like Piers response that as if the board only bought because of the moaning, even though they'd been moaning for years. My original point towards this was people on here look up to Arsenal as the pinnacle of how to deal with transfers/wages when in fact they are similar to us just on a bigger scale. If Arsenal offer 150 grand a week and Man Utd counter that with 200 grand, they will back down and not compete with them. If we offer 50 grand and QPR offer 80 grand, we will back down too. Should Arsenal/Newcastle both up their wage to offer more, personally i don't think they should. Sanctions need put in place to stop clubs blowing others out of the water with huge wages, not clubs getting in to bidding wars. Its a major fault with football at the moment and something needs done about it, i don't mind that we offer some sort of sensibility to it all and look after ourselves financially. Except the situations are totally different. Arsenal had a stadium to pay for and have a brilliant manager that can pretty much guarantee them champion's league every season. Yes, they are us (the fans) on a bigger scale, in that some complain about a situation that most fans would love to be in but, but it's all relative and they haven't seriously competed for the title for 10 years. They've still flirted with success in their time of being 'unsucessful'...yet they've now gone out and spent £40m on a brilliant player and they look much better and are top of the league. Surely, if anything it shows that spending money is a good idea from time to time? Not that we shouldn't complain because things could be worse. We could go on all day and night KI and we probably still wouldn't agree. I wouldn't complain if we went out and spent 20 million on a player and 100 grand a week wages but at the same time i'm not prepared to kick up a fuss if we don't when i'm content with the standard of players coming in which is progressing nicely and see no reason to start working outside our current budgets. Would we now pay Remy the extra money, of course we would, however it could now be too late with CL clubs lurking. Our mistake for not taking the gamble in Jan but I don’t think it’s something we should blame the club for. Anyways I’m off to watch a film, I’ll make sure I put my review in the film thread and end it with a rating out of 10, because i know your a fan of that

Yes we are, quicker Ashley gets his money back the quicker he will f*** off. We are turning in a decent enough profit whilst still building a good side with players we enjoy watching. If Ashley recoups the money he put into us to save us from Shepheard's crazy spending, he will be off like a shot. After then it's a case of pot luck with the new owner. If that's definitely going to happen then why are we discussing it? Why are you discussing it? It's opinion, you might think he's here for life just to p*ss all off. I think he doesn't actually want to be here but it's cost him an arm and leg and is refusing to leave till he at least get's a good chunk of the money he invested back. I hate Ashley to bits but tbh he's bought players which i love watching and pay good money to watch and will carry on doing so if he leeps finding hidden gems to entertain me. Yes i'd love to be in a position to compete with likes of Arsenal/Liverpool again but we aren't, and i wouldn't break our balance and run the risk of a Leeds in doing so. If QPR want to throw money around on all sorts of players and people want us to aspire to them, then fair enough, but their way of running a football club isn’t the way I’d like ours run unless you have owners like Man City who can afford to do it. But we are. 50k plus stadium and an owner worth 3.5bn. Which is triple the wealth of the Liverpool owner. You keep saying this, but its patently not the case. An owner who quite clearly has no interest in putting his own money into transfer fees/wages after already paying off our debt through Shepherd’s mental spending. We've got an owner who wants to turn profit, not win the league or a cup. People might moan at Pardew but Ashley's the real deal cunt in all this and that shouldn't be avoided. His transfer policy though is far better than the majority even if he should just go out and get that one player who might cost a little bit over the top or might cost that extra bit of week. I still feel we are in a good position to keep Remy, it's far better to pay someone 80 grand once they have proven themselves in the league, especially in your side than it is to justify paying it for a foreigner who hasn't achieved anything special to suggest he was worth that amount of money.
