How many players did Portsmouth have when they were in a similar situation a few seasons back?
-
He probably belongs to the 'meh' Colback-level of signing that I don't really care about. The true litmus test is still whether we get a Cabella-level striker that we really need.

If so, bet Janmaat's going to be scarred from taking cabs from now on.

6 mil euros or pounds depending on how confused they are.

I'm sure he will love the developmental squad at the age of 24.

you're talking 16-17m outlay there man, when we've got cisse & gouffran on the books seems very unlikely to me Doubt we would break our transfer record to get one in. Neither do I think we will risk our league survival on Cisse, Gouffran and potentially Riviere too. If we do, I will be seriously worried.
-
Think we will still get a proven striker in the ~10m range in addition to Riviere who could well be a wide option or a backup striker. While there are goals from Cabella and de Jong on paper, I doubt they would risk relying on one-goal-in-three-games players new to the league plus the current version Cisse to ensure our Premier League safety.

Will there be a Sports Direct Cup?

Didn't say it was, I'm saying that no club is going to freeze a lad out when he's just come back from injury, if we did there'd be people on here on about how heartless we are. If we actually give him a new contract then I'll have a problem. If he's not going to play much of a part in the first team this season, it might be better to let him go to another club where he can regain his match fitness rather than 3 seasons of non-football in a row. And I'd argue we have shown plenty of heart in such a case. He might end up going elsewhere.in the end, that doesn't mean we should leave the lad without a squad number in the mean time.. Who is advocating that? Edit: Pretty sure he means he rather Raylor not be at this club. The poster at the top of this page? Raylor turns up at photo ops (with a squad number), otherwise he's nowhere near the squad. That's how I read it. Think you are reading too much into it. He responded to Raylor getting a squad number by saying that if we were a proper club he wouldn't be near apart from photo ops. Really not sure how its unreasonable to read that as a suggestion that he shouldn't be allowed to be any part of the squad.. Ehm... yeah... he didn't say we should heartlessly "leave the lad without a squad number in the mean time" though.

http://i.imgur.com/cYmhcEg.png His league record. Doesn't look that great. For those who had seen him play, is he more of a wing forward?
