Sky Sports understands Newcastle have spoken with Loic Remy's representatives to ascertain his situation - but they face stiff competition for his signature should he leave Marseille in January. Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and Bundesliga outfit Schalkeare all understood to have an interest in the highly-rated front-man. Remy has always stated he would be keen on a move to England, but was open-minded about his future plans. Likewise, Sky Sports understands that Marseille are relaxed about Remy's future, whether that means him leaving in January or not. The French side would like to keep the 25-year-old, but are open to a deal if the right offer is made. Newcastle have had a long-standing interest in Remy, given their excellent scouting network in France.
