Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Buzzing with it tbf, two huge clubs in Dortmund and Milan but who are vulnerable giving us a good chance. Honestly Dortmund are playing without any direction at the moment. -

Would be delighted with a Derby/Sheffield Wed life for them now - perennial optimism of doing well but becoming part of the EFL furniture.

Reminded me of Dele Alli's talk about toothpaste in the Spurs series.

Agree, and the Sela logo goes better with the 1999 top than it does with the others.

Interesting how both this campaign and our last one in the CL coincided with it being the last of the respective format before UEFA changed it. -

Couldn't tell you, mate, but with so many St Pauli fans, think there would be a huge contingent supporting Shakhtar. -

Live in Berlin so would love both Leipzig and Shakhtar if possible - Geordie invasion of Hamburg would be immense, and perhaps we could turn it into a Kevin Keegan Day or something. -
Union Berlin’s deal with adidas was announced over a year in advance. In any case, fuck Castore.

' It came on a matchday when, walking into the directors’ lounge at a rival club, the Newcastle delegation encountered their frostiest reception yet. Hands were outstretched by the visitors from Tyneside, there to be shaken, but were conspicuously ignored by one opposition director, seemingly eager to make his hostility clear. The episode was so awkward that the Newcastle executive on the receiving end relayed it on the insistence that identities were withheld. But it will not be forgotten in a hurry.' Liverpool director?

Not to forget that him and his mates changed Salford's club colours to match their beloved Man Utd.

Based in Berlin these days, so would love to get Leipzig. Absolutely beautiful city as well, would be a great away day destination. -
Any movement on changing the ‘Newcastle United’ typeface back to the original or changing to basically anything that’s not the SD one?
-
What chance Jassim miraculously gives actual power to Al-Khelaifi once the Man U takeover is complete and they then flog PSG?
-
In fairness for Blair, it was probably true. Fashionable team not far from his constituency, challenging Man U/Tories. Definitely sounds like an Alastair Campbell thing.

Aye their actual designs for our home kits have been on point and I'm happy they brought back embroidered crests. I still pine for adidas, however, because of the past and because I want our club to be associated with premium brands after the fat knobhead's era.

You mention it yourself though, he's a sneering cunt who needlessly loves having a go at fans on Twitter. Can't speak for others, but I get pissed off with him for that, and not because I want to defend the ownership because of his articles which are more balanced.
-
You can accept the general premise of his articles, sure, but the online reaction that you mention is down to him acting like a troll towards fans, or just being hypocritical. Wasn't it only a few months ago when he got into a slanging match with Lineker on why Shearer doesn't question the ownership, and when Lineker questioned the fact that he works for Lebedev, he ran from the scene like the coward that he is. Not to forget one week a few months ago when two articles came out - one Shearer interviewing Howe in the Athletic and asking him the ownership question, and the other was his brother in arms Panja interviewing Mbappe but not questioning him about PSG's owners because he 'ran out of time'. Fuck both Panja and Delaney.

https://twitter.com/LeeAtNFTV/status/1661734607837069319?s=20 I'm glad they are fully getting the stench of that bastard out, next step to change the lettering on the East Stand.

Last time was the final game of the 2010/11 season. Forget wearing one in the final game, can't even remember a home kit being announced before end of season after that.

I hate Allardici, but the fume from those toxic Everton fans will be one for the ages, so I'm willing to accept Leeds staying up.
-
The season when they won the title and smacked us at SJP was genuinely one of the lowest points of the Ashley era - it's appropriate that 8 years on, they provide the opposition for us to hopefully return to Europe's top table.

Fuck yeah baby
