  1. Could be Harper's replacement?
  2. Can't see why you're advocating getting rid of Williamson then complaining about a lack of depth, I don't think there are many better CB's that are happy to be 4th choice, we need decent squad players like Williamson and Perch who are willing to sit on the bench 90% of the season and come in and do a job when needed. We only really need to sign another CB this summer is if we lose Colo.
  3. Realised I forgot Perchinho and Raylor when I posted that .. probably enough cover for Pards to wing it.
  4. Wonder if we'll replace Simpson or just rely on Santon for RB cover. Would like to see us go for Corchia or Aurier if a champions league club doesn't pick them up.

    Loïc Remy

We can be held to ransom at the moment because everyone thinks we need to replace Ba, but when no-one signs him, because of his knee / wages / agents, we can call Marseille's bluff that they'd rather have a £10m player sat on their bench all season than the money.

Either way, the correct answer to any question put to Pardew is "I will not discuss the details of any player's contracts." I thought he'd been trained for interviews.
  9. Could always hijack the Mattia Destro deal.
  10. Guthrie's a no brainer for me next season. Reckon Park might be a decent signing too.
  11. Ben Arfa was FM-tastic. Can't think of many players that fit our damaged goods transfer policy more than Sakho and Cissokho.
  12. from the little i've seen, woodgate-esque but not as good. is mobile without looking it, not a blood and thunder tackler (can but doesn't need to that much) but more the type to ease the opposition off the ball, tidy on the ball but in the games i saw didn't seem to take many of thr opportunities to stride out when he could with the ball. That and he's probably stronger, quicker and better in the air than any of our CB's. Can't stand having slow CB's, really hope they spend a few extra pennies and bring in Sakho.
  13. We not f***ing wigan man! Wigan played some brilliant fluid football at the tail end of last season, no shame in playing like that. Wigan played 3-4-3 though, not that formy posted, like 3-4-3 myself but not a chance in hell Pards will play it. He's tried 5 at the back before, was pretty calamitous as the players didn't suit it, but he's open to experimenting with formations. He is open to different tactics but if we sign Debuchy along with a centre half, i would say 3 at the back wont be one of them, i like 3-4-3 as its attacking (if played the Wigan way) but 5-3-2 is too defensive (Liverpool when they used it) imo. 4-3-3 is looking our way forward with the players we are looking to sign and the ones we have. 5-3-2 can be attacking if the defenders are given license to push forward, it's perhaps a little too defensive with Tiote there though. It is a pretty FM formation, but I'm happy with us completely reshaping the team to accommodate a player of Sakho's quality. I'm a big fan of the 4-3-3, but we need to retain the ability to mix things up when that doesn't work.

  16. Would love to see Sakho here, it's an ideal opportunity to sign a world class young player, there's no reason why he can't be a starter for us for the next 9 or 10 years. Assuming we get Debuchy, we could accommodate 3 first choice CB's (until Taylor gets his token injury) as we would have some quality attack-minded full/wing backs. Krul Taylor Coloccini Sakho Debuchy Santon Tiote Ben Arfa Cabaye Cisse Ba
  17. Enrique's not starting for Liverpool anymore, I'm all for forgiving and forgetting, we should offer them their money back on him.
  18. £5 Falcao, 2 goals or more @8.4 £5 Llorente, 2 goals or more @11.5
  19. Won £60 from the Chelsea game, would have been £160 but I bottled it at half time. That's my losses covered from the Wigan match
  20. 119PTS but -24 on transfers. Kompany set to come off the bench with 14PTS after Skrtel doesn't play against Norwich. Then he plays 90 mins against Fulham and scores an own goal.
  21. The software evaluation period has expired too .. cheapskates!
  22. More than we would pay i would guess. Just watched some clips of Belhanda, strikes me as a similar kind of player as Ben Arfa, but his apparent temper makes me think of Taraabt. Would love him in the team if Ba were to go, but I can't see him playing CAM for the same reasons Ben Arfa hasn't been played there. Marvin Martin or Gylfi Sigurdsson would be perfect for the CAM role. Belhanda would also cost a bomb, if the Montpellier president's valuation of Giroud is anything to go by that is. Sigurdsson's stock has risen of late, and I can see some competition for his signature driving wages up. I reckon Martin would be the best shout what with Sochaux's recent form, hopefully it'll be an under the radar signing. I think this has the makings of a Gervinho saga. I really rate Vertonghen and love how he gets forward, but I can't help but think he'll turn out to be a dud. I hope I'm wrong though, two ball playing centre backs might not be conventional but I'd love to see it, would help Krul with distribution too. On the subject, when was the last time we signed someone we knew about in advance?
  23. Al-Habsi, Vertonghen, Debuchy, Martin, Hoilett.
