We should hang on to him, I reckon he could be a decent Centre Back / Goalkeeper next season.
-
I was under the impression that he only wanted to go to Spain because he thought that the Premier League would be too physical for someone of his stature, can't remember where I read it, but it was around the time we were first linked with him. I think he sees the Spanish league as a safer bet, somewhere where he is more likely to succeed.

I had a dream last night where I was discussing transfer targets with Pardew, I put in a good word for Jeremy Menez and Marvin Martin, so I wouldn't be surprised if we sign them.
-
I hope that was a dream team or a wishful thinking team If not, serious disappointment awaits you man It's a team of players I think we should be in for, I don't mind us being rejected and not getting them, but we should definitely be trying for players of that calibre.

Gameiro Dzsudzsak Ben Arfa Menez Tiote Barton Enrique Simpson Coloccini Taylor Harper Sturridge if not Gameiro. N'Zogbia if not Dzsudzsak. Marvin Martin if not Menez. M'Bengue if not Enrique. Yes .. I dropped Nolan.

Paying the premiership premium though, I'm well up for investing in the French at the moment, they're underrated off the back of the last world cup, but they have tonnes of promising talent and generally pay low wages. Plus we have Benny and a great reputation in France.

I've been thinking along the same track, would love: Gameiro (9m), El-Arabi (5m), Menez (8m), Dzsudzsak (8m) That lot leaves us with a very potent attacking force, and a decent squad size for an estimated 30 million, 160k/w wages. If we fail to get these, I'd like to see us go for Martin Martin instead of Menez and N'Zogbia instead of Dzsudzsak. Shane Long would be a decent second choice striker instead of El-Arabi, I'm not sure who I'd want if not Gameiro, I'm not a big fan of replacing Carroll like-for-like with Sow, a pacey striker would really get me off my seat, perhaps Sturridge. A bit of Ashley-esque investment in the youth wouldn't go amiss. I think the reports about Cheick Diabate is spot on as he seems to be exactly the mold of player we'd be after. Also a cheeky punt on Raphael Varane would be nice, but perhaps is a little too hopeful.

Would rather that we go for Marvin Martin than the Zog personally.

Guillermo Ochoa on a free should be a serious consideration. Young but very experienced. He's been linked with PSG and Olympiacos. Plus he has Coloccini-esque hair.
-
Heard a lot of good things about him but don't recall seeing much of him myself. This. Mate who is a Boro fan thinks he is the real deal though. ---- N'Zogbia has been linked with l'OM if Wigan go down n all FYI. l'om have been linked to him for a few years iirc Wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool went for him. They could do with a left sided midfielder who isn't going to cost the earth and is Premiership proven. I think they have Ashley Young lined up. They're in for Marveaux too.
-
Seen a couple of reports valuing N'Zogbia at £6m. He'd be a decent buy at that price, but surely he won't go that cheap?
-
I'd rather go for Anelka if he's being shipped out this summer. Anelka is 32, man. Cisse is 29. Anelka's the better of the two, and his age will be reflected in his price. Cisse will be awful when he loses his pace, plus he comes across as a bit of a prick.

Might as well put in a cheeky loan offer, then try and slip in a future fee without City noticing.

Just watched the highlights for that game and for the Saint Etienne game which he scored in. Seems like a decent prospect, but definitely not a first choice striker, but a good long term replacement for Ameobi I think.
-
He seems to get taller with every new report on him.
-
Reading up on Cheik Diabate, I think he would be a good replacement for Kuqi / Ameobi. Tall, powerful player (Mali's answer to Drogba / Adebayor according to IMscouting), he's young, and he seems to be surplus to requirements at Bordeaux so we could get him on the cheap. Would be an interesting (typical Mike Ashley) signing, but I wouldn't want him starting for us next season.

Apparently we're in for Hulk http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/7416/1/tottenham-and-liverpool-target-open-premier-league-move
