Could have a lot going for it as a sport. http://www.rodcollins.com/images/1brazilian-womens-football-side.jpg
  6. Harper Willi Colo Barton Gosling Nolan Tiote Ireland HBA Jonas Ameobi Better? Would like to see some more youth, where does Haris Vuckic fit into all this?
  7. Could be a good impact player if he's coming off the bench with a point to prove, and we need a bench full of players who can change a game. We need competition and depth, so he's worth a shot at 5m or so i think, wouldn't mind seeing Guthrie go the other way either.
  8. The likes of Barton and Enrique aren't prepared to sign new contracts unless we show ambition, how is leaving what looked like a sinking ship any different? Plus a number of people would take N'Zogbia back even though he thought Newcastle was beneath him, I think the Zog has more potential to disturb the balance in the dressing room that Bassong. Besides, the team that Bassong left is nothing like the current one. I don't blame him for wanting out. The fact is that he's hit a wall in his career, I think his return would be great for everyone. I wouldn't hesitate taking him back for 6m or so, considering that he's young, versatile and premiership proven.

    Danny Guthrie

In fairness to him, he wasn't awful against Wolves.
  12. I think Adebayor is exactly the style of player we need, his hold up play yesterday was immense, imagine Ben Arfa and Ireland playing off him. He's also aerially dominant, without everyone playing route one football to him. Pity he's paid too much, his attitude stinks and he's too old. Perhaps if we could find a player in a similar mold, but younger and English .. oh. I've not seen much of Lukaku play, but his name has been thrown around a lot, and he's not half bad on FM. Does he have the same style of play? If so we'd be stupid not to be in for him, as we can offer him first team football from the off.
  13. Calf injury, probably just strained it. He wasn't taken off immediately and still seemed pretty mobile after the injury.
  14. Harper Simpson Williamson Coloccini Enrique Jonas Guthrie Barton Ferguson Ameobi Lovenkrands (Assuming Ferguson's injury isn't that bad.)
  15. I'd take him back, could probably get him for 6m or so considering his lack of starts / poor form this season. He's proven premiership quality and young, I reckon it'd be a smart move to bring him back. Also, no opinion on the Zog returning although he thought Newcastle was beneath him? Bassong left when we were relegated, I don't hold that against him, it takes a lot to stick with a relegated squad when you're young and ambitious.
  16. I reckon it's a good time to buy French players with our 35m considering their performance in the 2010 world cup. I wouldn't say no to: Gameiro, Menez, Matuidi, N'Zogbia, Bassong. It is the Arsenal model we're meant to be using after all.

    Alan Pardew

We've been unlucky in the long term injuries to Smith and Ben Arfa, Gosling was signed injured, so that's another one out of the club's control. Enrique's hamstring injury was sustained in a match, that's pretty common, but for us it's been exasperated by a lack of real LB cover. The ones we can control though are the three thigh strain injuries, Gutierrez and Ireland injured themselves in training and Barton in pre-match warm up. I think Carroll's thigh strain occurred during training under Pardew too. I'm hoping the club have picked up on this, surely just a bigger emphasis on the quads and perhaps extended warm ups should go some way towards reducing these. In the past I remember lots of hamstring problems, groin strains (both attributed to the training pitch) and hernia's. But the thigh strains seem to be a new thing under Pardew, or is that just me being paranoid?

  19. How good is Hatem at making friends?
  20. Hopefully when Pardew has all three at Newcastle in the summer he'll have them do a decent amount of kicking practice after every training session, they can all improve massively in that area.
  21. It'd be a stupid decision to sell either of them at this stage, as they're both still developing. One has to go out on loan though, I'm fairly confident that's what Pardew was implying.
  22. Hopefully it'll come down to whether he'd prefer to play in the same team as N'Gog or Ben Arfa, I'd like to think we have the pulling power here. If we could get Gameiro, I think it'd be in the bag, but it depends on how long Marveaux waits for before signing for someone.
  23. The 35m will be as much of a curse for Pardew as it is a blessing, if the first few games don't go well, he'll have a lot of explaining to do. I like to think he'll stay, but no-one can predict what will happen to NUFC from one year to the next.
  24. That would mean that his contract runs out this summer? From what I've read about him he'd be great competition for Tiote, and great cover during the ACON as he's played for the full France side.
